If you own the Fallout francise and sell it, you already ARE at the bottom. Heck, if even a J.Anderson (from the original Fallout team) jumpes ship before this whole court craze started, it's clear to see how it would come out.
The Fallout MMO being developed by Interplay sounded like second-most-likely vaporware (right after Duke Nukem Forever) from the very first announcement.
Interplay today has nothing to do with what it once was. It's just some unknown guys trying to profit from past glory, who thought "Fallout + MMO = $$$".
If these guys actually used their brains to a certain extend, they would have secured the rights to continue the "van Buren"-path. Seeing how many Fallout fans (not just NMA) gotten vocal about Fallout 3 being just Oblivion with different style, this should have given them something to put their feets on solid ground. Instead they tried to make leaps with nothing in their pocket.
The good part is, that J.Anderson headed to InXile where he joins Brain Fargo again. And that InXile purchased the rights on Wasteland from EA back in 2003 - a much safer investment if you have to put your money down on one those two companys.

I thought about that. But as someone else pointed out, it does represent something of a conflict of interests between CDP the developer and GOG the DD platform. Valve have already been called many times on their distinct inability to keep their respective two separate.
But, that said, there's no reason that the same code couldn't be re-branded and reused as a means to sell CDP titles separately (or indeed other DD platforms, such as one for indie games).

I don't feel that it would be a conflict of interest, because all the games here on GOG are more like "ok, build your collection!" and not really like.. "here's this new game, we need sales!"
With Steam, it's a conflict of interest because you've got Borderlands which is a four player co-op game, and then you've got L4D at the same time.
With these games, the initial sales and the pre-orders are crucial to the developers, for the guy who owns the ip rights to one of the games on here, there is no real competition between games, even if they are similar. This place is more of a place to remember the past, not to rack up the sales charts.

It's a matter of perception. Namely that of publishers and what GOG wants them to see.
Steam was a means to secure HL2 first and a DD platform second. That hasn't really changed much over the years, even if other titles have drowned out the noise Valve makes about its own games on the platform.
So, effectively, publishers are letting one of their peers sell their game for them, rather than them selling their game through an established, dedicated digital distribution retailer.
All it would mean to CDP is separate domains and separate names branded onto what is largely the same site with a very similar purpose. They could even have accounts that span their network like IGN or Google's sites. But by maintaining that distinction publishers will see GOG for what it is, rather than a developer's attempt at self publishing which sells other people's titles on the side.

But if they wait long enough that the witcher is the say 5-6 years old then it'd not really be an issue having it show up on GOG since there's already games of that age on here

The Interplay we all knew and loved is largely existing at Obsidian (and working on Fallout New Vegas as published by Bethesda). ;)

True. Most of Black Isle, and Trokia for that matter, has gone to Obsidian Entertainment.

I didnt like a single game from Bethesda. I tried Morrowind, which started so slow with uber boring quests that i refuse touching it again.(i dislike rpgs where you are mostly left alone anyway) And Star Trek Legecy simply was crap. Also i simply forgot about Fallout3 after hearing all those storys about bugs and silly dialogs.
Now i dont know of a single game which was made by Interplay in recent years. But at least they made me able to play the classic fallout games.
So i would rather like interplay winning than seeing the old fallouts games vanish and bethesda claiming that they created the franchise.

That's because they're not the Interplay of old at all. Different (mis)management and none of the old developers at all. They're a shell who exist only off of the sales of their old games.
Even if Bethesda made such a claim, it would be no more erroneous than Interplay in its present form claiming the same thing.
While I've got no problem with people thinking what they will of Bethesda, supporting the dead, corporate shell that is Interplay is like Little Red Riding Hood remaining convinced she's speaking to her grandmother right until the bitter end. Look up Titus Software. That's what you're throwing your support behind here.

I heard a really juicy rumour from Ken Williams that 3d Realms is working on Fallout 4..
Could be just a RUMOUR though.

Unfortunately we dont get that here in Finland.
I was just walking on the street minding my own business when suddenly out of nowhere Ken Williams appears and tells me that 3d realms is supposedly working on Fallout 4.
And get this: Ken also told me that Phill Collins is composing the soundtrack for the game!
Could be just a RUMOUR though..

Sounds to me like you've got the same sources as the Daily Mail, even if you don't have the joys the tabloid itself brings.

I dont know about my sources but I'm enjoying myself quite a lot now.

That's what matters most after all.
