if we now guess arcanum and such, wich is plausible, I still have 1 big question: How does "expect the unexelled" fit in....?
If the clue hints at Troika, then by association that would mean ActiBlizz is coming. Does anyone really think Bobby "gamers suck" Kotick would go for GOG's pro-consumer philosophies? That alone eliminates it as a possibility for me, though it would be nice if the Activision catalog, including everything they have assimilated over the years, were to come to GOG.
Hey guys, according to wikipedia:
"A general meaning of the Russian word troika (Cyrillic alphabet: тройка) is three of a kind, a collection of three."
Make of that what you want..

Tsunami: I don't know what the big announcement is going to be, but it sounds like a really huge, BLOATED, mu... announcement!

Vestin: I sense GOGers in search of answers...

You've never played Diablo1, I guess.

Like, oh mah gawdz. Troika were planning to release a series of insanely buggy (yet fun) games, go out of business, and have their games sold during a mysterious GoG countdown :p
Seriously though, if GoG wanted to go that route, they wouldn't use the word 'troika".
Homeworld
People are mentioning Sierra again and that was my first choice and would still be if I was trusting in science instead of intuition.
You see the space horizon remind me of Alien. Aliens Versus Predator is a scientifically (By me.) proven Good Old Game and it's publisher is Sierra. So you can all see that empiric, logical and scientific research proves that it's Sierra.
But my guts tell me it's D O O M and the id Software catalog.

Its also a Russian word for a carriage drawn by three horses side-by-side.
Make of that what you want...
What about ActiBlizz pack "Diablo Complete" (Diablo = Blizzard, Diablo: Hellfre = Sierra = Activision)? :)

Funnily enough, that's how many games they managed to release before going out of business.

The problem is, Sierra itself doesn't exist anymore and all the rights to the games they published belong (mostly) to Activision now. In order for Sierra's catalog to come to GOG, Activision would have to come to GOG.

You mean, like, "trójka" ;P ?

Why the HELL would I respond to your Diablo 1 quote with a Diablo 1 quote if I had never played Diablo 1 ?!

I know, I know. Funny coincidence and all. But what I meant is that maybe we should seek for deeper meanings than the ones right in front of us. So I looked for other meanings of 'troika'. Who knows, maybe they used ' troika' to misdirect us, and is it actually the meaning ' a collection of three' that is relevant. Otherwise it just seems way too obvious..

My guess is the Civilization series. Has any game at all excelled it for critical review?
