Cambrey: Needless to say that if that happens, we want a picture.

captfitz: uh oh

And not to mention all those extra wallpapers for those games featuring that picture...
System Shock with a "Sock it up, INSECT!"
Dungeon Keeper with alternative take on the "it's good to be bad", "It socks to be good."
So many possibilities, make me want those games even more. And yet, such things usually don't happen..
Let's focus on that underline.;)

Delixe: So according to Mikee someone guessed correctly. I also highly doubt Planescape: Torment or System Shock 2 alone would qualify as "the biggest announcement ever in GOG history".
He also said "(maybe except the opening the site itself but this is different category)" - So it's not moving out of the Beta stage.

I'm also starting to think it's not EA, because he said it's not the most obvious or the easiest.

Mikee: PS. Have you noticed small change on the main page, now the importance is more underlined;)

Hmmm?
*meticulously browses page*
Well, I never noticed Our Thanks down in the bottom. (That's awesome, by the way. :3)
The copyright has changed to 2010. Does that mean something?
Other than that, I don't see anything else...
I'm so excited. :3

AlexY: Other than that, I don't see anything else...

The top banner no longer switches between 5 different images, but stays as the counter?

Arteveld: System Shock with a "Sock it up, INSECT!"

Did you mean "System sock" ?

Miaghstir: The top banner no longer switches between 5 different images, but stays as the counter?

Hey, good observation.
...Hmmm.

Come on that was the most visible part of the website:)
Here I can tell you more. Main spot with counter changed a bit.
Regarding main mystery I cannot tell you more. I gave some hints without consultation with the rest of the team. So better I tell you less than too much, otherwise I might spoil the masterplan;) Just read carefully and GL with guesses:)

Mikee: Main spot with counter changed a bit.

Dammit! Now I want a screenshot of how it looked before so I can analyse tiny changes.

Indeed. You guys rock. I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't spot such a detail by myself.
Ok, I'm changing into silent observer;) We'll see.

Ow, how could've i missed that! :D
Well, when I hover my mouse over where the 5 panels used to be, I get a "click this" mouse pointer, but clicking does nothing. I also tried to highlight the window with my mouse, but still nothing.
avatar
soulgrindr: does anyone actually use "unexcelled"? unsurpassed maybe...
it's clearly interstate '76
avatar
Blarg: I've never used or even seen the word "unexcelled" in my life.
And I've read a book.

Obviously it's the wrong book.

That's because the banner rotator is using the RollOver effect anyway, even if there's nothing to link to in this particular case.
I understand how removing the other adds from the banner rotator, and leaving the counter only, underlines the importance of the announcement, but for the life of me, i can't figure out it that in itself is some kind of clue or not :(
My brain is slowly melting....
The gog team should perhaps consider expand into the Adventure Games making business. I'm sure the games would be made of pure evil ;)
How cryptic.
