SO back on the subject, a couple of posts make it sound like I am being a prude. I am guessing that's the generation that this form of "language" is aimed at. Can someone actually justify that kind repetition of cursing every 2 seconds? It sounds like a 14 year old trying to be edgy and grown up.

I think I was the only one who used the word prude to justify some swearing, not excessive swearing. There's a difference, likely very large. The point is I'm allergic to the requirement to be politically correct and religiously correct (all the time) for that matter so throw in the swearing to lighten the mood but only for that reason, not to be edgy or sound cool, I'm against that as much as you.

I always disliked the idea of being "smart enough to use another word." All words are expressive, cuss words can be used by educated and smart people because they're effective. Maybe my mind was warped by teenage Tarantino movies but I cuss all the fucking time for shit's sake, etc.

I do wish they'd use more English swears instead of american ones, but more swearing's alright with me!

I don't mind, but yeah, hearing the same thing over and over and over, it's like, come on, show a little creativity. Kinda like the phrases npc's use in Oblivion. Quit asking me how I am; you don't really care!

What I hate is when books make up "fake" swearing words. "Sanctuary" by Lynn Abbey comes to mind. "Froggin'". Really?

Yup, Kickstarter is full of scammers. Those who backed Torment, Eternity and Wasteland, prepare yourself...

Unfortunately, rehashed games of successful franchises (with little to no innovation) overwhelm the market. I don't blame the publishers or devs though. If it sells, why fix something that isn't broken? Free market and all that jazz :)

But getting back to the subject at hand, if I don't like the swearing (or any part of a game), I just wouldn't buy it.

Kinda off-topic, but here we have a saying:

"Joka pieremättä kusee, se kuksimatta kuolee."

Roughly translated:

"He who never farts while peeing, will die without ever getting laid."

This is something you're supposed to say if you are e.g. in a public lavatory and happen to fart while peeing in the urinals. Kinda prayer or something so that the gods forgive you, I guess.

Anyway, maybe cursing and farting are a bit similar thing. Maybe some people would mind if games started having lots of farting.
