Garugo: Depends on if the person had to purchase any of the games in the trade or not. If not, then it's fine, but if he had to make any purchases it kind of loses the trade equality of it (from how I'm looking at it, anyway).

My point was in the hypothetical situation where one has a coupon for "$x amount off" and they sell/trade it to somebody for that same amount (wherein the purchaser has to spend money to get the items for trade with the "$x off" coupon).

If the person wanting the coupon doesn't need to spend money in order to get it, then that's fine, it's where they DO need to spend money on it that the coupon loses its appeal to me.

But that's just me, and since I'm not involved in the trade, I'll shut my mouth now :D
I think you just explained it. I was going on and on about how pointless it was to spend $15 to get a $20 coupon. If I had $15 worth of free stuff lying in the inventory and wanted Skyrim, I'd do the trade as well. My worth a $4.99 GOG was my example if the coupon was being bought as at $15, it's less than a 10% savings and might as well save the aggravation and buy Skyrim at $60 or wait for a sale.

When he said worth $20, I took it literally. Damn verbage. Worth $20 in tradeables, yes.

All this yapping for nothng. Sorry about that.

I agree, that's nonsense, but like you said: "hypothetical". That is not the case, I have no idea why bring that up.

And @Kabuto, it's YOUR point of view. It wouldn't be pointless for me for example, in fact I can get two games for those $5 that would usually cost $20 total, plus I don't usually buy games online, which changes the "save the aggravation of buying a game" to a "wow I just saved a lot of money and time". You may see it as a worthless trade, but for some it's not....
I still have one killing floor guest pass, if someone wants to check the game out.

Off-Topic:
I have a humongous headache, this sucks to baaaad...
I have -50% Rockstar Games coupon and I want a -50% Ubisoft or -50% Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (hope it works on the deluxe version) :)

will add extra coupons:

1x -50% ARES
1x -50% Trainz Simulator 2012
1x -50% Multiwinia
2x -50% Audiosurf
1x -50% Blocks That Matter
1x -33% bitComposer game
1x -33% Valve
2x -25% Valve

Joined Steam a couple of days ago (I caved) and recently discovered I'm in the possession of an inventory in which I have the following:

- 6 Coal.
- 25% off any Valve game
- 50% off any Valve game

Willing to trade for similar discounts for any good indie game or maybe a €4,99 GOG if this is at all easy to do.
Alright, I've given away one game, might as well give away those:

Games:
-HALF-LIFE 2: EPISODE 2

Coupons:
-50% off Civilization V GOTY
-33% of Valve Game
-50% off Worms: Ultimate Mayhem
-50% off Cogs

Free for anyone who wants them.

HL2:EP2 given away to dksone.

If anyone wants the coupons, they're still up for grabs!
I got quite a bit of cool stuff, best one being Bioshock 1...

Was looking for a copy of this for a while, looking forward to playing it.

Other than that I got coal and crappy coupons.
I picked up a Valve coupon at the very beginning, then got coal every time after. I figured I'd wrap up a bunch of achievements around the end of the sale rather than burn out halfway through. Except I didn't see the bit where they stopped giving out everything except Valve coupons and coal. Guess what the coal to not-coal ratio became once all the other possible prizes were unavailable.

On the plus side, I'm all set if Valve releases a string of new games over the next 3 months.

Except I do believe all the coupons say that they can't be used on games released after January 2, 2012... so even if they did release DOTA2, L4D3, Portal 3, HL3 or anything else that we'd all like, the coupons can't be used on them :(
I won the Valve complete pack (which I gifted to my son's account) which includes about 24 Valve games the first day, and then later I won Flatout 1.

I also won quite a few coupons, which I'm hoping to trade (along with Flatout) for Bard's Tale in a couple of weeks.

I had a great time trying to unlock many of the achievements, and seeing what I won.

Still 2:20 left for January 1 in Valve time! Maybe they'll surprise us.

Wouldn't that be something if Half-Life 3 came out
