I want to play with Tarnicus - Gold Edition™!
I mean, c'mon stay where you are and keep on being part of this community. :-)

I will respect your decision, whatever it will be, but I think you should ask yourself if you had a great time here or not. I think that your efforts for making this a better place confirm that the right answer is yes and, in that case, nobody should prevent you to keep on this adventure.

That said, thank you very much for the giveaway! In for Shadow Man.
I'd like to try my luck for Aarklash: Legacy. I went and looked it up after seeing it on your list. I enjoy action RPGs but what really stood out to me is one persons' review about how each character had a unique skill tree that can be rebuilt at any time you like. Experimenting with the skills is fun but some RPGs punish you for investing too much in shape shifting instead of something mainstream like vitality and it ruins your entire game if you haven't mapped out the perfect build for the game. The chance to just cut back and enjoy all the different battle options without having to play the game over and over is especially appealing. I was a little hesitant since they say that the gameplay makes up the meat and the storyline is very shallow, since the main point that usually allows me to forgive glaring flaws in a game is the excellent story. However if done right the gameplay for gamplays' sake can be just as engrossing. I had a lot of fun playing Rage even though the story was just awful. But it made shooting a real pleasure so I'm hoping that this will be a similar experience. I hope that whatever new aspect you decide to focus on will prove to be rewarding.

Tarnicus: Today marks 3 years and 3 days of being a member of this site. There's my lucky number 33 again :) Thanks guys for some wonderfully enjoyable times here. In order for this place to be the place I once loved would require significant changes to how the forums operate. Yes I realise that I have brought this upon myself by taking a look into the history of the site since I had an extended break from the forums and I've realised that my energy is best directed to other aspects of life.
I don't know what to say except good bye. It's sad to see anyone go even if our paths never really crossed much at all. I hope that conditions improve to the point that you might return in time.

This is perhaps the largest giveaway I've seen as well. There are a lot of interesting games and I love that they are given based on merit. Not to mention you're giving away Divinity: Dragon Commander... Wow. I'll have to remember this the next time I do a giveaway. As a lurker, I am unworthy. :)
It is always sad to see someone leave the forum. It is sadder if that is because of someone else. But if you're going to feel better away from here, then that is the right thing to do. I still hope you would visit from time to time. There are many nice people still here.

But as a true generous GOGer you go out with a bang! Thank you for your generosity! That is a long list of games!
Should there still be keys I'm interested in any of these: "Age of Wonders", "Divinity: Dragon Commander Imperial Edition", "Eador: Genesis", "FTL: Advanced Edition" and "King of Dragon Pass".
The fact that everyone is leaving is really a shame. I have not been here for long, but even before starting to post I often checked the forums, since I found them a good place for sensible (I don't know if that is the right word, but it's the best I can come out with! :P) discussion carried on with both respect and intelligence. Even if we probably never had a chat, I feel that losing a member, especially if a long timer, is always another step into the grave of what made this forum great. No matter if you will decide to carry on with you decisions or not, I wish you all the best.
I admit that in your list there are a few games that particularly interest me, but I will neither ask for any of them nor I will participate in any other giveaway, because otherwise I fear I'll only resemble one of the sharks that recently haunt this place, de facto helping to tear it apart.
Once again, good luck! :)
Not in, but I just wanted to say that I'm sorry to see you go.

So with that in mind, I'd like to give away some GOG games that I purchased recently. The gifts will go to those I feel is appropriate, and this is not based on rep, join date or contact with me. It is based purely on what feels right to me.

So add whichever games interest you. Don't be scared to ask! Add a bunch if you like and I wont consider that to be greed but to merely give me the opportunity to spread them around a bit as I'd like to pass these on and go back to focusing on other aspects of life sooner rather than later. Visiting here is an unpleasant reminder of aspects of humanity that I avoid as often as possible. I can't help but call people on their bullshit. That is my nature. When those I care about support that bullshit, and the forums are set up in a way to make it easy to do so, my choice is to avoid it.

You can reply in this thread or via PM to request. I won't be posting who gets what or why. I might also add the 100 or so Steam and Desura codes that I have spare too if I can be bothered to collate them.

Aarklash: Legacy x2

If you'd like to stay in touch via other means, shoot me a PM :)

Edit: I'm off to sleep. Will check back tomorrow if I have time and will wait for a few responses before starting to dish out the codes, unless of course you jump out as one of those people I've had a great time on GOG with and would really like to enjoy one or more of these games.

I'd like the copies of Legend of Grimrock and Aarklash in particular to go to people I will still be in touch with as those are the 2 games on my next to play list and I'd love to chat about the games whilst playing them. I started Legend of Grimrock yesterday and it is the exact nostalgic trip I was after reminding me of the Eye of the Beholder series.
Very nice and generous giveaway, though I too would rather see you keep the games and stay, but I certainly understand where you are coming from. I'm not a huge contributor like you or others here, but I have tried to participate in a respectful way and have still been down-repped for no apparent reason more than once.

That said, I would certainly enjoy Wasteland. Haven't gotten around to getting that one yet!

Plus, I had to respond to the thread title with my avatar!
More and more people leave but let's hope it's not forever :D

To be honest i saw that coming after recent events but to be honest again (lol) it would be for the better as well. A good time away from the forums will do you good, i know that from personal experience. It could be a internet thing altogether i dunno...

I'd be in for FTL, it's supposedly a good roguelike and those kind of games appeal to me, so thanks for considering and sharing. Good luck on your adventures :P

That is the EXACT reason I bought Grimrock! When I saw the trailer and the reviews I almost cried :)
I finished it last month and I'm confident the game will keep you reminding of the EoB series (especially 1 and 2 as they're basically Dungeon crawls like Grimrock) for the whole playthrough.
A word of advice if I may; give your party build some GOOD thought; this largely determines how easy or difficult the game will be for you!

Again, I wish you all the best in the future!
C'mon, that's a defeatist attitude I don't want to see here. You'll be back, you'll see :)
More than the tireless number-crunchers and providers of info you've been the voice of the insomnia promo for me, the name I found myself looking out for while skimming pages. I hope you have something else lined up to fill the virtual homelessness after leaving here. Take care.
Haven't given you any fish yet, so you'll have to stay a little longer.... please:)
I would love to try Divinity: Dragon Commander Imperial Edition , I have all Larians other games but I was afraid to take a punt on this as I am a bit too stupid to play strategy games :)

Its always a shame when people leave communities after a long period of time, its even more sad when its the community itself can be the cause :(

Tarnicus, although we had little interaction, I feel it is a real loss to the community here that you are leaving. I agree with you, I think realizing we don't have forever is a big step towards getting the most out of life, focusing our limited time and energy on what's most important to us. I too would rather have you stay; I'll just wish you safe travels, since your mind seems made up.

I'm interested though, what are your next plans?

On a side note, I'd give Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura a good home, just in case. Thanks for the going away giving away ;)
~sigh~

Well I know you've undergone a lot of changes since I met you here on GOG and I'm sure you'll go through even more ;-p But I did want to say this, since we never really finished the conversation - my take on it is that yes, some people are going to fool you but if you don't take the chance and be open to all that cross your path, you miss out some pretty amazing people. I guess what I'm saying is "youse pays your money, youse takes your chances". Sometimes that means losing and sometimes that means winning. For me, having lost plenty, I might be a bit inured to loss but I'm never tired of meeting another kindred soul and the joy that brings...

Anyway, I hope you check back in - here and the other places ;-) Huge hugs to the Munki-girl too!
