lugum: Not to mention having bought games probably on sale and then ask full prices for it.

Telika: At least the price he asks is more or less equivalent to the GOG discounts prices.

Matteo: I understand your point. Honestly, i don't have a single game on pc now nor i was planning to keep any of them. Thanks Telika

Telika: But it can't be verified, unless some DRM is implemented. So it would be opening a door to that sort of abuse.

GamersGate has a system that allows this : until you've downloaded a game, you can still give it away. But unfortunately GOG's system cannot check whether you did it or not. Also, I guess Steam's DRM would make such transaction sensible, I guess. But the price we pay for no DRM is the possibility of piracy and abuse, so we have to live with that. And keep some of these doors closed...

So, even if your own intentions were honest, because of other people it's not something that would make sense to validate on GOG... :-/
Thanks again Telika, i was sincere. And naive.

It appears that GOG has a system in place that can.

Unless you meant something else?

No, I ignored that. Is it new ? Or is it just about contact-support-to-cancel-a-sale contexts ?

And anyway, the GamersGate system allows to keep games indefinitely in the "for oneself or for a gift" limbo, while GOG would at best allow negociations after up to 14 days, and generally demands the "gift" status to be defined at the moment of buying.

And yeah, one could only ever buys "gift codes" and redeem them whenever he wants to install the game, but it's not exactly the default operation, while it is on GamersGate.

It's one of the very few (probably the only one) quality of GamersGate over GOG...

No, it's not new. And I think it's this provision under which people contact support and turn purchases into gift codes.

But, yes, that particular GamersGate feature is really nice - maybe GOG will incorporate something similar to the total overhaul, one can hope at least.
