It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Namur: Shouldn't something be listed there ? On my own DxDiag i have a bunch of stuff listed there. My card is also a Geforce, diferent model though.

In Dxdiag's visualization tab what does it say for

DirectDraw Acceleration
Direct3D Acceleration

Does it say "Enabled" ?

kjohn170: Actually it shows that DirectDraw Acceleration is disabled and Direct3D Acceleration is partially enabled.
ENABLE!
So apparently my current display drivers do not allow me to change hardware acceleration settings. When I go to advanced settings the change setting button is blanked out. That doesn't seem right.

Yeah, it really looks a GPU and/or or DirectX issue

You already updated DirectX so i guess you could do a clean sweep of everything Geforce related from the machine, boot with the generic VGA driver and then reinatall the current version of your GPU driver and Nvidia's Control Panel again. Or you could do the clean sweep and try to install a not so up to date version of the drivers. I'm currently on the 285.62 should you need a reference version in case you decide to give the downgrade a shot.

While you are cleaning and installing and whatnot make sure Vista's UAC and/or your AV are not screwing things up by meddling in those processes.
A noble BUMP!

Got it working yet?

Licurg: Got it working yet?
So I gave everything suggested a try and nothing seemed to work. But coincidentally I upgraded to Windows 7 yesterday and the game works fine.

I really truly appreciate everybody that took time out of their day to try to understand and help me with my problem.

Thank you so much for your help!

P.S. Vista can suck it

Awesome! I'm marking this as the solution: If you have Vista, just get rid of it:P

Uhm, Seven and Vista run on the same kernel so I doubt it was the case, it seemed more like a botched driver install to me.
Anyway glad you got it working none the less.
