In other words: too damn fast!

Terminal Velocity, a fast-paced interplanetary fighter flight sim straight from the depths of 1990s, is now available on GOG.com for only $5.99.

In a future not that distant, a devastating conflict shatters the terran defences. The humankind manages to survive and their last hope of defeating the invaders lies in the newly constructed fighter craft: the TV-202. This incredible machine has the ability to completely ignore gravity, fly in any possible direction with limitless maneuverability, and to deliver continuous thrust. Not to mention its supreme firepower. The fate of our race lies in the hands of the only pilot brave enough to fly that craft: you.

Terminal Velocity from 3D Realms is often compared to the Descent series, as it features the same concept of free-roaming battle-zones. 3D Realms made sure, however, that their game had an unique feeling to it. With creative landscapes, challenging enemies, hardcore tunnel-stages, and many unique worlds to visit, Terminal Velocity remains one of the most captivating futuristic fighter sims of all times.

If you think you can handle piloting at extreme speeds, while avoiding moving obstacles, and shooting bandits all around the clock--join the air-force! Or, take the safer path and get Terminal Velocity, for only $5.99!
New 3D Realms GoGs!!!! HUZZAH!!

F4LL0UT: Meh... I hate how GOG is only releasing new indie games lately. :P /sarcasm
Beat me to it. x]
Aw, HELL yeah!

timppu: Now at least the people craving for old game releases should be pleased: two old releases the same day?
Darn tootin! ;) Awesome, GOG, especially seeing Shadow Warrior on here! (I recall seeing a few weeks back that 3DRealms had Shadow Warrior Complete for 10 bucks, so maybe they finally lowered the price not too long ago.)

No, SW is still $10 there, and you're on your own when it comes to installing WD.
Crushing the afterburners key while shooting through an extremely narrow tunnel full of enemies? Yes, please. Not to mention the huge outdoor zones at the end of that tunnel...

Wishlisted without a doubt!
Good game but not as good as WANG, in my opinion.
I looooved the demo of this game, but I've never had the pleasure of playing it in its full glory. Now that can be rectified. Thanks, GOG. :)
This game was on my top 10 releases I was hoping to see on GOG. Now I'm ecstatic!
Thank you GOG!

timppu: ... I remember it being a showcase for some 3D accelerators. Unless I am completely mixing it up with some other game from the same era.
This was released in '95 and there were no 3d accelerators back then. It was the time of 486DX4 and P1@66MHz... :)
So you're mixing it up...
EDIT: Nevermind, wrong thread.

I remember this game! Great release!

Fuzzyfireball: Like I said in the SW thread, more 3DR games finally!

Now, go convince Epic to release more here.
Which Epic games (other than Jazz Jackrabbit, which it's criminal that that series is not on here yet) are yet to be on GOG? They pretty much blew their wad when they first came onboard, with all the Unreal Tournament games (mostly), and both Unreals.
Thank you GOG, I have been waiting for this gem :)
I really loved this game back in the day. Thanks for releasing it here GOG. :D

I think they were presenting special versions of this game for the early S3 3D "accelerators", which came before the Rendition Verites and 3Dfx cards.

But I guess it would be still wrong to say this game was made to demonstrate the early 3D accelerators, because it didn't apparently support them at first, out of the box. It supported them through patches etc.

Which begs the question: is the GOG version 3D accelerated? EDIT: At least the screenshots don't suggest so, and maybe it was 3D accelerated indeed only on S3 Virge...
