Shadow of Chernobyl + Clear Sky + Call of Pripyat up to 70% off!

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, the phenomenally immersive FPS survival horror series set in the terrifyingly believable radioactive "Zone" surrounding the explosion site of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, is available up to 70% off on GOG.com. That's only $14.97 for the set of three for the next 72 hours.

Not many people truly understand what it means to be a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. We're Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Loners, Killers, Explorers, and Robbers. Basically, what each of us is, is a bit of a soldier, a bit of a thief, a bit of a hunter, a bit of a nutjob, and a full-time basterd. Imagine what's happening in our heads. The Zone is calling for us ahead, new locations and unknown threats, spatial holes and monsters hiding in the fog, pitch-black nights and saving rays of a rising sun. You try to avoid anomalies and hide from blowouts, discover the Zone and collect artifacts, cure radioactive irradiation and fight for any stalker faction you like! This is the life, right? If only it didn't end so promptly, ever so often.

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series delivers one of the most immersive and enthralling experiences in the history of first-person shooters. Calling it a "shooter", however, might be a bit of a stretch. The games' focus leans mostly towards exploration and stealth. In most cases, it's best to avoid encounters rather than face the dangers head-on. The Chernobyl exclusion zone is full of things that could kill you in an eyeblink. Strange creatures, physics-defying phenomena, not to mention the other men bold or insane enough to venture into the heart of eastern-european Twilight Zone. The competition is ruthless, as the prizes are great--the fascinating artifacts found in the forbidden land yield unbelievable prizes on the black market. If you think you have what it takes to become one of the fabled S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s, the whole story of the Chernobyl Zone opens before you: the original Shadow of Chernobyl, the prequel Clear Sky, and the sequel Call of Pripyat. All three games come with high-quality soundtracks encoded in lossless FLAC format.

For the next 72 hours, that is until Sunday, February 9, at 10:59 GMT, you can get the entire S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series 70% off, that is for only $14.97. Separately, the games come with 50% off discount for that time.

EDIT:
Now, that the release special offer has expired, the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games are priced at $19.99, $9.99, and $19.99 for Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Pripyat respectively. A permanent 20% off series discount still applies, if you get all three at the same time.

timppu: Hmmm... Is this game series really developed in Russia? I don't see any double-toilets here:

Ukraine, actually, that's why it's so authentic :)
The discount is sooo tempting....

Yeah, caught that. It is quite a realistic FPS after all.

Merchito: Old and experienced gamer, but quite ignorant about FPS...
So the question is : Is this series better than Half-Life 2? Same type?
You can't really compare STALKER to Half Life. The Half Life games are very much story driven and also very linear. Stalker is much more like Fallout but with more shooting and less story. These are open world games with a main plot you can follow and lot's of side quests. The interface used for the inventory is similar to that of a lot of RPG games of the nineties (or resident evil); you have a limited inventory space divided in squares and each item you find takes up one or more squares. Unlike an RPG you do not level up, but acquire better gear.
Since I am short on available time to play I will only buy Shadow of Chernobyl at 50% off. Regardless I did play a little of Stalker back when it released. The game was definetely atmospheric and you notice it from the very beginning. It makes you feel in a post apocalyptic wasteland. Now I want to play!
Nice, now i can finally try those S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games my buddy has been praising for years. :D
Off to buy all 3 (and my wallet is crying bitter tears).

htown1980: I wonder what happened to the Democracy 3 DLC….
avatar
G-Doc: Set for release at 6PM GMT.
Here's a question: Since Democracy 3 is here now, would it be pointless to bring Democracy 1 and 2 here as well?

I'd imagine though that while 3's more advanced and expansive the older ones have their merits as well (and part of the series).

Great release by the way with the STALKER! Missed these back in the day! I might just score this bundle...>.>

senbon: Excellent games! :D
For extra awesomeness I recommend installing the following mods:

STALKER Complete 2009 1.4.4
Clear Sky Complete 1.1.3
Call of Pripyat Complete 1.0.2

Notable mention:
L.U.R.K.
Thanks! I love it when I can be recommended good mods!

Feel free to vote for Democracy and Democracy 2 in our community wishlist.

As for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. mods - there's a mod spotlight feature on the way :-)

Kunovski: yep, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. isn't supposed to look pretty :)

k0ret: I don't think that is the point of his post.
The Point is, Complete mod not only change graphics but also gameplay for far more casual friendly experience. If you want graphics you have plenty of mods to check. But people mosty know about Complete because it's easier to install and popular, despise it's not only changing graphics but also gameplay...which sucks as for me.
well, I read what I wanted to read, sorry about that :D I'm mostly against any mods as they change the game (and I want to play the game the devs developed, unless their version is unplayable ;)
Now, I haven't actually played any of these, and I'll happily accept that they may be truly fantastic games. Still, am I the only one who feels that a base price of $20 is somewhat high for a game that's 7 years old? This is Shadow of Chernobyl I'm talking about, naturally.
Since buying new computer I've been thinking about obtaining these series. Now it's on GOG without DRM, whole series for such a discount, and with multiple languages? Instabuy!
DRM free!!

I Love you GOG! :)

And thankyou to GSC Game World for putting your games on the greatest place in the whole world =)

Yep.I was thinking about that as well. 3 games for this price at 70 % off normal hmmmmmmm (and yes i know the two better ones on steam but only played a fraction of the games)

The I would recommend you to try Zone Reclamation Project(ZRP). Fixes and patches mostly and doesn't touch gameplay too much, except fixing what was left untouched or broken.

It is quiet high but if you can get all 3+goodies for 15$, I would say that is a fine price.

Instabuy. So awesome. Finally DRM-free and no more Steam issues with mods and what not.

Great! I can't wait to see it. :D

I played through the STALKER series last year and I played them all with Complete Mod, highly recommended!
