Down with the establishment!

Red Faction 2, a versatile first-person shooter in which the struggle for power continues in the destructible environment of Mars colonies is available 70% off on GOG.com, , as a part of our Red Faction 1+2 Bundle deal. That's only $2.99 for the first 72 hours!

For the last 15 years the corrupt dictator, Sopot, has oppressed the people of the Commonwealth. His relentless pursuit of unification with the neighboring United Republic has left the country soaked in unnecessary bloodshed. A battle for power and control that leaves the people of the Commonwealth in poverty. As not so ordinary citizens, a squad of super soldiers injected with nano-technology is formed. Fed up after years on the front lines each member vows to unify with the common goal of replacing the dictator.

Red Faction 2 features an enhanced version of the revolutionary (well, at the time) Geo-Mod® engine that allowed players to strategically alter and destroy the game environment in real-time. To put it in other words: you get to blow up even more stuff than before. The game expands and builds upon the experience and technology of the original game. You'll be defending your country as Alias, a demolitions expert, with the help of five elite squad members, each specialized in their own means of destruction. Fight through diverse levels using vehicles, an arsenal of specialized weapons and explosives in a rampage to overthrow the government. If that wasn't exciting enough, this title features the legendary Lance Henriksen (probably best known for his portrayal of the Bishop android in the Alien movie franchise) as one of the voice actors. That's more hard S-F than you can shake a stick at!

Witness and take part in the escalation of the Martian conflict in Red Faction 2, for only $2.99 on GOG.com. The special 70% off release bundle offer lasts only until Friday, February 14, at 10:59AM GMT. The games are also available separately, 60% off.

ThomNG: Enjoy the first 2 parts of the Red Faction series here on GOG.com :)
Greetings from the Nordic Games office.
Thanks for the great release. I own both on disk and on that other digital store. I just bought them both again thanks to the generous release sale.

ThomNG:
Somewhere else the game is offered with the following compatibility notice:
"Please be aware that Red Faction II was released on older generation operating systems and hardware, this being the fact some high end systems can experience errors. Users of Red Faction II that have Direct X 10.1 ATI video cards or Direct X 10.0 Nvidia video cards will receive a error message. This issue unfortunately cannot be fixed at this time and is a known issue."
Have you fixed this issue in this version released on GOG?
I just tried to get it to run a week ago!!!! THANKS GOG! IT'S ALSO UNCENSORED, ISN'T IT!? I'm crying of joy while i watch the download progress!
I imagine that the other Red Faction games will make an appearance. Hopefully this means Darksiders 1&2 and Titan Quest (w expansion) are coming from Nordic Games as well! They also have a few other THQ games that could be released here in the future.
Very cool. Never had the opportunity to play these; only played Red Faction Guerrilla. A welcomed addition to GOG library!
I heard Red Faction 2 has major problems with modern systems and requires jumping through hoops to get it to work. It's the one reason I haven't picked it up on Steam, unlike the rest of the RF series.

Has this been addressed in the GOG version?

Thanks for releasing them DRM-free.

It is most appreciated.

Time to send some money your way.

Had the first game on PS2, but never played the second. Thanks for bringing them here. Bought in an instant.

But this is only the first step. You know that, GOG and Nordic, right? Second step is to bring us also Guerrilla and Armageddon. Next steps would be Darksiders, Titan Quest, Supereme Commander, etc.

I'm counting on you.
I just remembered that i have only played RF 2 several years ago (was ok IIRC).
So as i've been playing more shooters anyway lately (they're growing on me... :D) and to thank Nordic Games and GOG i just bought RF 1+2. :)

Looking forward to see more from Nordic Games on GOG in the future.

Nordic hinted that Titan Quest would be coming to GOG in early February: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/release_spellforce_2_demons_of_the_past/post82
This rules. Thanks to GOG and Nordic Games for this!
Everyone buying this: "hey this game's horrible but $2 oh fuck it."
