Featuring the Fearsome Fangs of Fury!

Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2, the action-adventure game following the exploits of the blood-hungry anti-hero Kain, is now available on GOG.com for only $5.99.

Kain, the Vampire Overlord had it all. He had the gruesome glamour, the sinister swag, the mighty magical blade called the Soul Reaver, and an army of obedient minions ready to storm the fortified gates of the great city Meridian. The world of Nosgoth was his blood-filled oyster. But then the Serafan Order had to show up with their fancy glyph magic and it all just went to hell. Well, not literally, because when Nosgoth is your home hell seems like a holiday resort, but still--the power and glory days came to a sudden and unexpected end for our blood-sucking anti-hero. Now, after a 200-year slumber, he wakes up to a twisted world where his brethren are treated like scum. And to make things worse the power of the Soul Reaver is now in the treacherous hands of the Serafan Lord. Take it back and make make sure that the city of Meridian once again finds its respect for the vampire kind.

Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2 is a third person perspective action game with many lavish locations to explore, legions of fearsome foes and bewildering bosses to slay, and a pile of puzzles to challenge your wits. The Games action-oriented 3D gameplay is more in the lines of the series' future installments, like Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, rather than its 2D predecessor.

Get your gruesome groove back and paint Meridian red in Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2, for only $5.99!
HELL YES!! Insta-buy!
Good luck and please get the original Blood Omen! We NEED it!
Ok, so BO2 is here but not BO1?

I realize BO1 is borderline freeware (at least you can find it free at a huge number of places) but come on GOG.

Oh well, my collection is nearly complete. MUAHAHAHA!

TheEnigmaticT: There are licensing problems with Blood Omen 1; we're working on resolving them as we can, but we figured that you guys would rather have Blood Omen 2 now and Blood Omen 1 (maybe) later, than no Blood Omen at all.
Nice release. Any word on a possible release of Revenant?

Crosmando: The game also also causes problems (crashed for me) with the FMV videos, but what fixes it is another patch that converts the FMV's into Blink format:

Thanks, but I see several downloads on that page, so which one should I get? Or all of them?

!Bink-Converter for BO1! (+ bink-support) (2.3Mb)

Bink-support for BO1 (Video-Patch) (293Mb)

(and some third mini-version too)

Or is the first one needed if you have the PC version, and the second one for Playstation version?

Thank you for the heads-up. :)

Mhm, kinda figured that this would be the problem, since the PC release had a different publisher (Activision), AFAIK.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this the first time you are answering a direct question about an upcoming gog.com game? Should I start looking for flying pigs?

Activision published the PS1 version as well you know.

The small Bink converter actually converts the FMV files in your BO1 directory into Bink videos, so it takes a long time.

The larger one is just a big patch which contains all the BO1 movies already in Bink format, and extracts/overwrites them into your BO1 directory.

Whichever one you like is fine. I think the larger one was made because the converter is really unoptimized and eats up CPU speed, can take hours, and even can crash. Also download size for people with slow internet.

There's no such thing as borderline freeware. Either something's freeware or it isn't, and Blood Omen definitely isn't.

Well, he didn't say it's an upcoming game, only that they're working on it. Just as they're working on System Shock. :( I hope the situation is a little less complicated though, as Blood Omen would be my personal System Shock. It would make me so happy!

Anyway, I appreciate TET shedding some light on the matter.

I'm asking due to this post. Plus, since his post is edited, I can always claim that the "maybe" was added later on.

P.S. Ignore me, bored and posting ramblings.
Who cares about this Blood Omen, it wasn't written by Amy and isn't even part of the story! We want BO1 !!!
