V is for Valor, Vigor, VVizardry, and Virtuous Victory

Heroes of Might and Magic V Bundle, which includes both of the game’s expansions (Hammer of Fate and Tribes of the East), is a glorious return to classic fantasy turn-based strategy that every HoMM-fan will love and is now available on GOG.com--for a limited time!--buy one, get one free with Assassin’s Creed Director’s Cut for a total of $19.99.

This is one of the two new “Premium Edition” games that GOG.com is offering; they are a slightly higher price--but they come packed with value and we’re encouraging you to try them out with this buy one, get one free promotion that’s running until 12 April at 4.59 PM GMT.

Rumors of the fifth part of the famous series created by a new developer under the wings of a new publisher caused quite a stir among die-hard fans of Angles, Dragons, and Titans. Luckily, the developers made sure that the old concepts which made the series successful in the first place were maintained. Heroes of Might and Magic V returns to familiar territory; the charm of the classic game is omnipresent, the gameplay is addictive, and the execution is splendid.

We return to well-known world of HoMM in control of Haven, Inferno, Necropolis, Dungeon, Sylvan, Academy, Fortress, or Stronghold. The game features a completely new scenario, arguably the most interesting in the series, along with new spells, new units and new creatures skills. The towns now look majestic and grand in full 3D, the units move and attack beautifully, huge spells convey a sense of massively destructive power, and the combat is great fun to play and crafted to perfection; even tiny details like splashing water on the shore are apparent in the game. The music adapts to the situation perfectly, and sound is filled with the little touches that show the care the developers lavished on this game, touches like shouts of joy, screams of death, and the sadistic laughter of demons.

Heroes of Might and Magic V is surely the version you’ve been waiting for a long time, and it’s finally here on GOG.com with more than 170 minutes of soundtracks, an official artbook, wallpapers, avatars, design sketches, and more. Its full price is $19.99, but pick it up for a limited time together with Assassin’s Creed: Director’s Cut Edition on a special introductory buy one, get one free sale!

spinefarm: Btw people should stop whining about the price of HOMM5 Bundle and look here:
HOMM5 Gold Bundle
And think again does GOG screw with pricing or we have better deal atm than GamersGate :)
Oh dear.... and they do not have any extras as well...
You know what's gonna happen to that GG version though? It's gonna go on sale someday for 2.49 USD...

Alrighty... So, I dug through some cabinets and lo and behold guess what I found? One of my DMoMM copies. I've been playing it some this evening. I must say; I still enjoy kicking the living shit out of enemies and watching them fly through the air and impale up on spikes and stuff. Or kicking them up against a will and carving them to pieces or beating them senseless with my staff.. Yes, good ole times indeed. I really do love this game. What thread am I posting in and why am I here again?....
I remembered!

If I purchases HoMM V here(now that I have DMoMM back)... can I gift Ass' Cream if I don't want it or am I stuck with it?
I already have three copies of AC1 (don't ask) and want this pack primarily for those delicious extras and to support this whole Ubisoft-game-without-DRM thing.

I wish I could gift the game and keep the extras, but obviously that's not happening.

Is the "in-game" soundtrack a complete selection of the game's music or what? GOG doesn't seem to have much info on the exact content of the bonus materials, which for me are the biggest draw.

How do you know it can't be gifted? Can you point me to a source?

From what I understand, game+extras form a single package and you can't gift part of it. According to this FAQ (#3), extras are only accessible once the game is in your games library - after you've purchased it for yourself, once you can no longer gift it. If I'm wrong, I'd be glad as I'm sure I can find someone who'd love an extra-less copy of AC1.

eishiya:
No, you're correct. Game and extras can't be split up.

You might send in a support ticket asking them. Maybe purchase the pair as a gift, ask support to give you HOMM V and remove it from the gift code, then you can give AC1 away. It's worth a shot at least...
Silly question here.

Do the environments in HoMM 5 ever like.... change?

I've seen heaps of screens, gameplay videos, and every single time the battlegrounds are fresh green grass, it rather kills the environment seeing huge monstrous creatures fighting over golf courses every time.

That would be the only way if they are not separated. And I know from past experience when I thought I was going to be clever and buy several for giveaways they came with one damned code. I actually did contact support that time and they broke them up for me. Which was very cool of them.

Well there's golf mini games between rounds of combat and such so that why it takes place on a golf course.

I'm pretty sure you'll only get one code. Since they were able to do that for you before, I'm sure they can this time, too.

Don't worry, there are also swamps, wastelands, caverns and even shipdecks sometimes. Here's a sample:

If you are asking about Assassin's Creed, the extras contain both the ingame soundtrack (complete soundtrack extra) and the cd release of music (official soundtrack).
If you are asking about Heroes of Might and Magic V, I think it's the ingame one, you can see the complete listing here

towerbooks3192: If only GOG would sell me Anno 2070 with all the DLCs even for a hundred dollars without the DRM, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Also with HoMM VI as well.

I fear the future of Anno's developers because of ubisoft scaring away customers and tormenting paying ones with their dreaded DRM of doom.
This. So much.
