Here's a game that will make you smile. It's plain to see that a lot of love and passion of its creators went into the process of making Driftmoon happen. This fantastic world was created with great attention to detail and no corners were cut when it came to producing the fable-like story. The creators' affection for their work is present in every dialog, every corner of the map and every little item in the game's world. Even though at times it's a little rough around the edges, this title presents everything that's good about indie role-playing development!

Driftmoon sports classic role-playing gameplay, complete with quests, battles, items, skills, and a party of adventurers. The charming 3D world is presented in fixed-angle top-down view, so it's always easy to keep track on of what's happening on the screen. Once you finish the original campaign, there's a mod editor that will allow you to create your own fantastic land and experience other player's creations!

Step into the colorful, fantastic world of Driftmoon and let your inner-child experience a wonderful adventure, for only $11.99 on GOG.com. The promo lasts until Tuesday, March 5, at 10:59AM GMT.

Wishlisted for now but chances are I'll be getting it from a bundle in a couple of months or so.

tburger: Indie releases day only :-(
Tuesday is always indie release day.

Thursday is old games release day.

Why always the goddamn whining. Gets really old :(
avatar
XYCat: Is it something like Torchlight (judging from the interface) or is it something actually more like an rpg?
avatar
G-Doc: It's not a hack-and-slash, don't let the vitality/mana orb fool you. It's a story-driven adventure role-playing with puzzles, dialogues, and whatnot.
Very very happy to see this here. I've been wanting it for a while.

Will be grabbing it in the next couple of weeks. Just need to finish the three games I'm in the middle of first :)

Thanks GOG -- awesome addition!

What I was thinking. The meager extras don't really add incentive.
I think I will get it. Eventually. My backlog consist of a lot of RPGs and recently I'm not in the mood to play them. I don't need anything new at the moment...

You can buy the entire soundtrack on their website for 5 bucks -- all proceeds go to the independent musician who composed 15 tracks for this game, and is probably living on not very much money at all.

The developers who created the game are a husband and wife team who, if you buy the game on their website, donate 15 percent of all their proceeds to the Red Cross.

But hey......that doesn't fit in with the current GOG mentality of so many -- "I want a game that lasts at least 40 hours, with a manual, an artbook, the entire soundtrack, bonus DLC and avatars, but I'll only pay 3 bucks for it".

The Me Me Me syndrome of so many on GOG is getting more and more disgusting as time goes on. Whining, complaining and angry because they can't get exactly the game THEY want with exactly the extras THEY want for a price that in most countries won't even buy a goddamn latte.

I need to just turn off my computer as I'm so damn sick of half the people I come across on the internet.

The whining about a fucking GAME drives me insane. Get some REAL problems and then we'll talk. Aaargggghhhh.

You might be waiting a while. Most bundles usually have end of life games....

Mate. People will always want things for free, doesnt mean they will always get ti.
Somehow i doubt the devs are high on peoples minds when buying the game nor red cross. We are here to buy old games.Indie games. We look at whats on offer, if it doesnt match our expectations we wishlist and come back to buy when its on sale. Harsh facts. Hell i wont pay for a game that lasts only a few hours. No value for me. Ripoff actually.

how about some REAL problems you encounter in a GAME? for example the approach to inventory management in Driftmoon? :)

just kidding ;)
I already played Driftmoon when it was in alpha. I bought it, when Diablo III was released and I preferred it playing Driftmoon than Diablo. It's a good game witch doesn't take itself serious. The story is funny and despite to Diablo III there are puzzles included. Not only stupid permanent enemysmashing. You also get an editor and it supports modding. In my opinion the game is worth every cent. You can download the Demo from the official site of Instant Kingdom and try the game. You won't regret it.

I'm waiting for my GOG gift key the developers promised to preorderers on their site.

Sheesh, over-reading much? I'm not angry, I wasn't whining and I don't think I'm being selfish for not buying every new indie game. Spending all my money on entertainment I don't even have time for would make some real problems, don't you think? With a long backlog and a constant stream of good releases combined with limited gaming time, I just have to pick and choose. Am I entitled to that?
