Ultima VII is one of the most important inspirations for Driftmoon. You'll be sure to notice a reference or two (or more), if you play through the whole game. :)
Hi anne and ville. I kept my promise, just bought the game. Would like to support you guys directly but unfortunately i couldn't afford the price in EU, so i bought the game here instead. Hopefully you guys still receive adequate cut. As for me, i'm looking forward to many hours of quality entertainment.

Glad to hear that, Kunovski! ;) They're kind of a bitter-sweet discovery in the particular place&time where you find them, aren't they?

By the way, here's a brand new, well-written Driftmoon review at jayisgames for you. :)

So far over 250 minutes spent on the game. That mean something for me because usually i'm not really fan of adventure / isometric / RPG. But for this game there's something special that make me really difficult to click the "exit" button, similar to "one more game" feeling.

I'm sure it's not because of novel factor, but because it's story-driven first and foremost, the combat is secondary and pretty light. The character development, skill tree are pretty straightforward. So there's less repetitive and grinding element there. Then the game reward those who love to explore with rare and collectible items, quest and character.
SHIT! The demo works great!
Double SHIT! It's really fun!

I hope you people are happy. I'm in the middle of 3 rpgs, 2 dungeon crawlers, with 4 more of each waiting on deck and now this.

KHAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!

SIDE NOTE:
Does the top down perspective ever get annoying. There have been two games with this perspective I played a lot in my life, Mission Impossible and Take No Prisoners, and while I loved them both, staring strait down on someone's head could get a little old after a while. Anyone ever get bothered by this?

Yeah, I played some of the demo this morning. So far I've found it very humorous and charming. I will probably pick it up at some point.

@tinyE I've played so many games with isometric perspective it doesn't really bother me per se. There are times when I would like to see things from different angles. Rotating camera helps this. I couldn't figure out how to rotate the camera in Driftmoon. If it that is even an option. Really wasn't that big of a deal though. The only thing that got to me was being able to pick up items without being near them. Even items on the other sides of walls. I just pretended I leaned through the window when I picked up that mirror shield from inside the tavern. After speaking to the snatcher I threw all reason and logic out the window and went on about my business. -__-

You can't rotate the camera in Driftmoon, you can only tilt it a little with PgDwn or return to top-down perspective with PgUp. I think one of the reasons why free camera rotation wasn't allowed, is that they didn't want you to miss something they carefully placed in your sight just because you chose an unfortunate camera angle.
I had a similar situation with another game-Vampire the masquerade-Bloodlines. I found that the game would be a lot of fun if it was isometric. As it stands I cannot stand any first person/3rd person games as I don't like the view. The roleplaying can be awesome in a game, but if you can't get into the view/perspective or something major, your better off trying something that you can get into.

Wow, you're missing out on gems like Deus Ex 1 & 3 then, as well as the System Shock and Thief games...

I just realized Shadow Force is the same angle, I almost bought it but the demo put me to sleep so I said, "Screw that!". It basically looks like a cleaned up Take No Prisoners without the cool settings.
So, did any of the pre-order people get a GOG key?
I think someone mentioned something like that in this thread, but I'm way too tired (and lazy) to check.
Nope haven't gotten it yet.
