Almost too good to be a game--but as games go, it's one of the pest.--Entertainment Weekly

Bad Mojo Redux, a revamped edition of the classic 1996 horror adventure that will let you experience the world through the eyes of a cockroach, is available in a bonus content-filled package on GOG.com, for only $5.99!

There's over 4,500 species of cockroaches roaming every possible corner of our planet. 40 of them, are the species closely related to human habitats. They live in the cracks of our civilization, feeding on our waste, shunning our light. We try to keep our worlds as separate as possible, revolted by their shining chitin bodies, dietary habits, and the tendency to show up unexpected and uninvited. We do our best to keep them out of our sight and mind, but the truth is, we're only fooling ourselves. They are there, they have always been, and they will be long after we're gone. Now, wouldn't it be fascinating to catch a glimpse of these creatures' perspective of reality?

Bad Mojo Redux lets you do just that! It tells a Kafka-like story of a man turned into a cockroach by a strange and mystical twist of events. Surprisingly the event leaves the protagonist feeling empowered, free, and in control for the first time in his life, as he sets off to experience the world full of paths no human ever trailed before. The game, combining exploration, puzzles, and a psychedelic plot, has been refurbished for modern systems so you can discover all of the 800+ screens re-creating our world's disturbingly icky underbelly. The game comes complete with a ton of bonus video content (including a "making of" documentary and developer commentaries) and artworks.

Overcome your revulsion, leave behind your prejudice towards insects, and discover a whole new perspective with Bad Mojo Redux, yet another Night Dive classic release, for only $5.99 on GOG.com.
Well this is an insta-buy if there ever was one.... I loved this game when it came out. Now's my chance to finish the story :)

IAmSinistar: The preponderance of "wishlisted" over "instabuy" is disheartening, to say the least.
I concur entirely.

The other day I was about to start a thread about "the big sales". The subject has (relatively) often been discussed, but it is nonetheless related to the part I remember the most about the GOG livestream and I wanted to open the discussion on that (the lingering doubts about the amount of "good" in the big sales).
The reason I didn't do so is that it's better to open a discussion thread when there is a 'fresh' article from the press on the subject or a big announcement (For instance, I think that the insomnia_stats might be a good place to start if GOG had a comment to share, I'll hold my horses though).

My raw thoughts :
- The idea of an anti-sale should be discussed. There is something about it that had an echo in many users mind.
- I buy games when I want to play them (i.e. I never wait on sales), and I start to feel like an idiot in doing so. And I think this is a real issue (not on a personal level, I never minded doing idiotic things :)
Are my eyes decieving me!?!?! This title is has finally made it's way to GoG? I thought no one else knew about this game!!!

Wishlisted and thanks to you GoG for bringing Bad Mojo here. :)

Thank you. Your whole post is very well stated. And I agree that there is a pernicious aspect to sales, especially the sheer volume of sales that happening in the digital gaming arena.

When GOG brought me back into PC gaming last year I happily stocked up on the titles they offered at the listed price. Then I discovered bundles and suddenly my library was swelling with games I might never play and some I would even forget I owned. The perceived value of any one game began to drop, and it seemed that if I were paying more that a few dollars for a game I was being a sucker.

Gradually I have come back around and have largely stopped buying bundles. I have returned to my, admittedly old-school, approach of viewing each game on its merits and buying it if it is something I want to play and feel is priced fairly. I will still indulge in a sale, such as the recent Insomnia promo, to pick up titles that are impulse buys or which are of more marginal interest to me. But now when GOG brings out a game I want, such as this title or The Last Door, I buy it whether it is discounted or not.

Again, I am not trying to put down people who don't have the financial resources to share in my somewhat luxurious approach. Rather, I am trying to amplify the reasons why I share your concern that the sales mentality can be detrimental to the health of the gaming hobby if not moderated.

I was considering throwing an image with Joe's Apartment in there but that would've seriously given the game away :)
Soundtrack info I found, for those interested - http://www.gog.com/forum/bad_mojo_redux/bad_mojo_soundtrack
Nice

IAmSinistar: Sometimes this forum makes me want to cry. Here GOG releases a genuine classic, not one of the oldest ones but certainly a groundbreaking game that dares to tell an original story. And yet I see post after post saying "wishlisted". If people who are interested can't pony up $6 to support classic releases at "full" price, then I don't see how we can keep hounding GOG to release more.
Well said. I personally don't want this game, but I'm seriously considering buying a copy to gift, for that exact reason.

I bought it!
Of course there are no roaches in the U.P.. If I still lived in the city where they outnumbered people 10,000 to 1 I might have reconsidered.

You are of course right. But I'm seriously OOM at the moment and spent $12 on Moon Sliver only yesterday. Otherwise this would have been an instabuy. I promise I will buy it at $6 and not wait for a promo.
Nice. I actually owned this game for Mac a while back, but due to some compatibility issues never really got to enjoy it. Definitely worth a consideration.

Serpico: A classic release at last! Well, semi-classic really, since it seems to be a remastered version of the original 1996 game.
Even the Redux is already a decade old. There's nothing new about this thing. ;)
