I disagree. I couldn't play GTA IV well with a mouse and keyboard, so I doubt anything but a controller would work well for RDR.

Actually with RDR I think I could use a mouse and keyboard because it really doesn't use the analogue features of the controller, you run with the A button rather than a certain angle of the stick and the analogue features of the turning really doesn't make that much difference. GTA4 on the other hand would be nigh on unplayable on a keyboard & mouse, it's just too dependant on the subtle analogue motion

I agree with Siannah, I played GTA4 on Xbox and it had terrible shooting controls.. either use the lock-on, which removes the feeling of real gameplay, or try to use the cumbersome analog aiming. I had so many missions that were extremely hard only because the aiming was terrible and I refused to turn lock-on aiming back on.
Played the game on PC and it was a much more enjoyable experience.
I am waiting on RDR for the PC version for pretty much that reason, along with crisper high-res graphics... GTA4 on Xbox looked like I had vaseline on my TV.

It just takes some time to get used to the aimng, Its never as precise as a mouse and keyboard but the lock on is a long way from being perfect and you need far more precision for driving than for shooting

I am also having a blast playing this game, but like a previous poster said, you need some friends to properly play the game like the one video showed. So if anyone wants to "posse" up on the 360 version, send Dao Jones a message. :)

Since I have a whole slew of new games at the moment I'm still battling through RDR. Since day one I've been impressed with it graphically. More the small details than anything. Things like cloud shadows on the ground on a sunny day; and the way your shadow is diffused when you move into them. Also the way rain water is shown to pool on the desert ground. The way a setting sun can shine through the sparse clouds in the distance on a rainy day to give the realistic appearance of a sun shower. And just tonight, the thing that inspired me to post this, the way the morning/evening sun shines through windows to create a real-time glare.
I'm not a graphics-make-the-game person, but I can't help but give credit to what they've achieved in this. It almost seems inexcusable for any game in the future not to feature these kinds of weather effects.

Well that would have been part of the vision statement for the game, it needed all those things to make it look like 70s western movies

Regarding PC release:
"As of now, there are no current plans to bring Red Dead Redemption to the PC platform. If that should change, we will let you know."

!! Now that's a funny glitch.
This game just plain a lot of fun. The gameplay is awesome but the voice acting in particular is superb.
