This got my attention, very much. Didn't know this game existed for the Amiga and now I am very interested in the remake that is coming, probably coming that is. Too bad they want $530,000 to do it. Don't think they'll reach that, sadly.

Very interesting, but asking for 900k is a death warrant sadly.

Yeah, a very interesting story, I might get the book if there is indeed a real one. They're dead already for aiming for more than $300,000.
I'm interested, but I doubt they'll make it anywhere near $900k.
They ALMOST have 0.5%... Only a bit over 99.5% to go ;P.
That game looks darn awesome.
They're also giving good value for money here (compared to some other kickstarters that is) - boxed edition, cover print, boatload of digital stuff and 5 physical items of yer choice at 100$.
Oh well. Maybe next time. Or maybe Notch will throw a million.
Looks sweet! Stephen Russell (Garret from Thief) even agreed to voice act if they get funded.

This actually looks pretty interesting. It's a shame they doomed their project to failure by asking for $900,000.
Loved the original, would like to see it remade or at least on gog.com ;) I don't think they'll reach their goal though :( 200-300k would be more realistic :(
I "played" the original on Amiga, quite atmospheric ambient music, at least in the Amiga version.

Anyway, since the original wasn't really a game, but merely an electronic novel where you proceeded with the story by simply clicking on different icons on the screen, I don't see much point remaking it with better visuals and stuff. The "game" was only about its story (reading pages and pages of text on the screen), so it would make more sense to just re-publish it as an electornic book, IMHO. And for that, does he really need that much kickstart money?

Ok, maybe the idea is to release it now as an electronic "movie", but I think I'll pass.

I do remember the original. Didn't get much out of it since my English wasn't really good at age of 7.
Pledged to this, but no way they'll get 900k.
Hey guys, just an idea: Why we don't pledge $30 each?

If they don't get funded, we don't get charged.

We GOGers can add a serious boost to it by doing this. ;)

I did, the Kickstarter is solid and the game looks interesting.

Been there, done that. Also - it's $36 for us internationals to get the physical thingy ;P.

One thing that sucks is that you can either read the novel and ruin playing the game or play the game and spoil the entire novel... I think I'll stick with the latter, though, assuming this project gets off the ground in any way.

I was one of the first backers for that. But reaching that 900k is practically impossible. Al Lowe and Jane Jensen had difficulties with their much lower goals, so 900k for a nevaheard project... ain't gonna happen.

But if it fails, that's more available money to Tex Murphy and Spaceventure. :-)
