Crassmaster: And while we're talking SSI titles, I wouldn't mind the original Steel Panthers trilogy...or the Wargame Construction series...either. :)

Already three branches of Steel Panthers 3 are available as freebies:
WinSP: World War 2
WinSP: Main Battle Tank
SP: World at War
Especially WW2 has a solid and vigor community so there's no use to have them or even the older versions here on GOG.
What is more thrilling is that Matrix Games is rumored to have started working on a new game in Steel Panthers series :)
Cheers!

Oh, I'm well aware of those...I'm a long time SP:WaW player and I've got SP:MBT installed too. :) I would love the chance to play SP2 and SP3 again, though.
As for the rumor about them working on a new SP...yeah, I've heard that. Heck, they still have a section on their forums for the first attempt, which was called Combat Leader. It was in the works for awhile before dying. Next up was one called Steel Tigers...this was last year...and that one's gone, too.

Virama: I was speaking to lowyhong actually, since you asked him a specific question... :)

I'm gonna go a stretch and say...

Now I have to give you rep for that! Good on you sir.
Fantasy General would be nice too. Yeah, Fantasy Wars and Elven Legacy are great modern clones, but it'd be fun to play the original.
Basically, just get permission to publish the entire SSI catalogue from Ubi, and we're all set. :-)
Panzer General II and Panzer General IIID (plus PG3 SE, on the Eastern Front) would be awesome.
PG II especially has a extremely active modding communauty with hundreds - ni kidding - user made campaigns, from "Italy in Ethiopia" to "What if ; Sweden vs Norway and Denmark".

I fully support the entire SSI catalog making an appearance! :)

FlyByU: I am still waiting on GoG to get these games do you know when you will be able to get these games online for use to buy?
Also is there anyone else interested in the Panzer General Series?
avatar
w0rma: Just curios, what particular games from Panzer General Series are you interested in? :-)

Sorry for the delay RL gets in the way a lot.
Panzer General
Panzer General II
[edit] Panzer General 3D Assault
Panzer General III: Scorched Earth
As many as you can get I would enjoy them all.

I would add Pacific General (although it NEEDED the help of modders to actually deliver everything that was promised), People's General and Fantasy General to that list. :)

At least I know who has the rights for it. We'll try to do something for you :-).
Oh that is fantastic w0rma I hope all goes well... The best part is they will run on XP and Vista.
SSI (Strategic Simulations, Inc.) I think UBI Soft has there rights now not sure on that.

Original Panzer General and Fantasy General would be great additions to GOG's game collection. Oooh, I'm nursing a semi just thinking about them.
I'm still hitting myself in the head every day for not buying those two games back when they were still easily available.
Panzer General 2, Allied General and Pacific General would be great too.

Same here I had PG but it was DOS and I never could run it after XP OS upgrade so it ended up put in a box and now I cant find that box. I should have bought PG 2 & 3 never did Grrrrrrr!!!
I sure hope GoG.com gets them ASAP the anticipation is starting to get to me LOL!
