the.kuribo: I can appreciate that Norton is a pile of garbage in comparison to other antivirus software, but I just want to PSA here a bit and say that people need to take virus warnings more seriously -- particularly the gaming community in general as PC gamers probably come across and run many times more unique executables with administrative privileges than the average user.
It would be a lot easier for PC gamers to take virus warnings seriously if 98% of them weren't false positives. I haven't had any kind of virus in ages, and every file my antivirus has complained about in the past several years has turned out to be a false positive. I'm using Avast by the way. It used to be good, but has become bloated over time, and now has jumped on the "false positive" bandwagon, in that that's all I ever get from it. Oh, and I also use Spybot - Seek and Destroy, which is very good.
Off-Topic: Yeah, y'all could say my avatar resembles a Xenomorph Pixie. Heck, it can resemble other things such as some gnome-like creature with a alien-like head (similar to a Xenomorph). I drew that avatar years ago out of randomness (which I have a tendency to do when I have nothing else to do).

On-Topic: There are definitely more false positives this day and age. While I very rarely see false positives on Microsoft Security Essentials/Defender, it does fail at catching very important malware/trojan horses/viruses. That is why I do use other software (free preferred, provided it works).
