I don't hate new games either, I too have more games than time, still since I'll be eternally behind I might as well pick and choose the mix of new and old that suits me at the moment. I don't feel the need to catch up, because I'll never catch up. Is some of that wasted money? For sure it is, still as a hobby it's pretty cheap even when I have to buy second copies of some games to play co-op with my daughter.
