Yes, I do have the problem described above. I'm a sucker for a "good" deal, to the point where I make bad decisions when such things are involved. I come from a background of lack of money, so whenever things were a lot cheaper than they usually are, my parents would usually overspend on such things, because "you never know when we will be able to afford this again", and this sadly seem to have rubbed off on me. Bundles are by far the worst offenders when it comes to games.

Porn addiction is a part of internet addiction. In general, our brains are exhibited to much more pleasures and novelties than any time before. Constant drive for novelty "numbeness" the brain, demanding bigger dosage of dopamine for lesser pleasure reaction.

It's the same with impulsive buying, and I can tell that from my own perspective. When i have more money, I have to buy more games at once to feel satisfied. Buying a single indie game give numb to none satisfaction, I can barely feel it.

Buying a whole package of games for a low price, that's something.

I don't think I could have built up my collection of ~250 Steam games, ~160 GOG games, ~120 PS3 games, and ~20 PS Vita games without obsessive purchasing syndrome.

I have the money to get away with it without skipping on bills or food though, but I still face worse and worse buyer's remorse reactions these days after splurging. Like on the AC3 release when I got AC3 Colletor's Edition + AC:Liberation despite knowing I wouldn't have time to play either for months. Because I need to finish AC:Brotherhood and AC:Revelations first, which aren't at the top of the backlog either ...

Just a few days after I was back in the store, buying Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 for the Vita. Despite not having time to play it. Despite knowing it was a bad port, far removed from the excellent PS3 version. It was on sale.

This week I'll have to physically avoid the shopping malls and downtown to avoid purchasing Lego LOTR for both the PS3 and Vita. Maybe throw in a little Hitman as well. Which is useless because I'll cave in time for christmas anyway.

So yeah, I definitely am a case of the obsessive video game purchaser. It's a self destructing hobby sometimes, this.

I sometimes just want to set my game purchasing on a total freeze, try to get through my ENTIRE backlog across all systems, and stream the whole thing on Twitch or something. See how long it would take me. Probably go insane before finishing 30% of my games.

I'll do it. After the Crysis 3 release. I swear.

I am certainly buying more than I can consum and waste a lot of things and money this way. It's just that I have more money than I really need for a living. However it really hurts only if food is wasted, the other stuff means just that my money is now with someone else...

I try to buy less stuff lately, by increasing the standards, by not visiting shopping sites too often, by deciding to buy stuff later when I need it, by thinking about how nice it is to save money. It works much better than before. I have a hugh pile of unplayed games but it doesn't higher so quickly anymore. Growth slowed down tremendously.

No, I don't have such a problem: I value my (very limited) money and I rarely buy digital, so every purchase has a place in my mind, my shelves and my time.

I typically only buy games I'm somewhat interested in. There are moments when I'll try to dabble in other fields only for it to not work out.

At some point you just have too many games. I have so many RPG's I want to play but making myself sit down and play them all is almost impossible.

So what, even if we every game on sale that interests us, we would still spend less in one year than our sisters and moms (obviously not girlfriends) on one handbag every week.

And back to topic: I can see how internet porn stifles social sex drive, but I can't see how it would make impotent, I mean its constant training, if anything it should ensure "readiness" up to a very old age.

I'm sorry to hear some ppl have this plague. I'd have it too if I wasn't so picky - I'm interested in only like 0.001% of all games that are and have ever been released so that saves me and my money, and even when I'm interested chances are I will first try the special version of the game before I buy it and put it in my (digital) shelf.

I also tend to buy more games when I'm feeling down. And then I end up wondering why the hell I bought this or that later xD

But if buying games make you happy, then maybe you should just roll with it and try not to kick yourself for it afterwards. Unless it's causing financial problems.

Probably more out of psychological reasons than physiological. Why get piledriver hard for that chubby chick you managed to drag home when you saw 5 movie clips with hot bikini models on the internet earlier?

Although that means the impotence is probably curable as well.
