At least the data isn't lost.
what idiots, cool name though lulz security.
Oh dear... at least nothing was actually stolen.
I hope GOG will not be the next target .

( maybe MS or Steam )

Agreed. If they attack GOG, they're idiots, given how pro-customer GOG is.

Kind of figured the other consoles would start to be hit.
Am I wrong to imagine these guys as a bunch of snobby little brats that like to cause trouble just because they can? Who has nothing better to do than petty crime for no benefit? Smoking crack would be more constructive.
I'm not sure how much info Nintendo keeps. Like when you buy wiiware or virtual console games last I knew it didn't keep your credit card. I always found it annoying to have to type it in each time but maybe it is a good thing after all. And of course just because the console doesn't store the information doesn't mean it isn't somewhere. I assume there is some record of my purchase with the card number on some server somewhere

The hackers don't care if a company it's good or bad. They only want to stole data from sources where the security is weak/breakable.
This will catch up with the guy behind it eventually, and he may not find it so funny when it does.

That sounds about right.

You may be right but they hacked Sony using SQL injection and got admin access to their entire database. IMO any company that has such an stupid security hole on this day and age deserves to be hacked.
Check their releases: http://lulzsecurity.com/releases/
They only got a web server configuration file from Nintendo, I don't think that is newsworthy compared to what they got from Sony.

I don't care how skimpy her dress was, she wasn't asking for it.

Different situations. Tell me something, would you trust your money to a bank that doesn't use encryption for your online transactions and stores your username and password in a plain text file stored in a server without a firewall?

My level of trust is irrelevant to the immorality of criminal actions against them and their customers. I wouldn't say this bank deserves to get robbed. That would simply be moronic.

As you would say, "different situations."
