Narwhal: I really disliked this Vampire. Story was good, but that was pretty much all. Dungeons were boring, combats were not balanced (Weapons => Very bad. Haste + Claws => No need to save, you ll just chew your way), graphics were so-so.
To be avoided in my opinion, but well...
cogadh: Where this game really shines is multiplayer. If you can find a good group of roleplayers and an effective storyteller, the multiplayer chronicles are incredible.
TheMadSpin: I still have the copy of this I pre-ordered in 2000, but I remember it being really crash heavy and unreliable.
Did they fix these problems in the last 10 years? I would love a DRM free version because I have ALWAYS wanted to finish this game (as I stare at my dusty shelf full of Vampire: The Masquerade RPG books), but it would never let me get close.
I've been playing Redemption off and on since it was in beta testing. It was never a very crash-prone game. Are you sure you are not thinking of Bloodlines? That has several issues that can cause frequent crashes.
Oh, right, I'm an idiot and can't remember the single Vampire game I own or the experiences I had with it. If only I'd beta tested it.
Why is it that a quick internet search on metacritic confirms that I'm not an idiot, but someone who beta tested it says, "oh no, you must have it wrong."
Maybe the reason the game was buggy is because the beta testers didn't do a very good job?
(Yeah, that's probably the meanest thing I've ever posted here, but being condescended to via the old betatest name drop when the information given is clearly CLEARLY wrong--just too much for me to deal with in a busy day.)
