EndlessKnight: I really wish that Jeremy Brett was still alive. Would have loved to hear him voice acting in Holmes video games.

Ulalume: I agree. He was Sherlock Holmes to me.
Agree

Eclipse: Oh so this guy gives gift to the ones reading the forum.. uhm... kinda weird but generous

Drat I saw the Enclave post and thought it was a promo code, tried it but it didn't work. If I'd known it was a gift code I think I would have been the first. Oh well.

RSHabroptilus: What's going on?
GOG just got Atari, and yet the past 3 weeks have been almost nothing but the worst releases in GOG's history, all of which really don't qualify as good or very old.

Past three weeks?
*goes to check the news archive
Wow, it really has been 3 weeks since MoM was released!
To be honest, some of the newer releases aren't that bad (Enclave), they're just not classics.
i agree Brett was irreplacable...but what do you think about Christopher Plummer in Murder By Decree i just adore this movie and him as S.H.
I just wish GOG wouldn't add so many adventure games.
This is probably the only genre I know not one game out of that I enjoy.

I liked that movie too, and all of the cast turned in good performances, including James Mason as Watson.
I also enjoyed many of Basil Rathbone's outings as Holmes, back in the day, even though they were turned into propaganda vehicles during WW2. They still have a certain charm.
But Jeremy Brett will always stand out in my mind as the best in the role, and I never tire of watching re-runs of that series.

For selfish reasons I'm glad, because Adventure games were a neglected genre for so long and some of the ones on Ebay were taking the p*ss with prices. FPS's for example have been a non stop release, dont get me wrong, I like FPS's, but also I think some of the older adventure games like Gabriel Knight were the better ones than a lot that are being released today.

Which ones have you tried?
