I bought both to show support for this new relationship with Atari. Thanks again GOG.
12$ for two fantastic games. You can't go wrong.
Has anyone found a way to play OutCast in a resolution that's not remarkably silly for modern systems? I'm running on a 1680 x 1050 monitor, and I'd like to know before I start to fiddle.
If there's an option that doesn't involve unstable patches and stechy-maybe-virus user hacks, that'd be best.
HOLY CRÊPES OUTCAST
Never thought I'd see it sold again!
Bought and downloaded.
Well, what can I say... I'm very grateful to GOG for offering this gem at a low price, but my impression is that it's mostly for those who felt uneasy about having a pirated copy. Because if you're going to buy this hoping for better compatibility, this is not the case. Personally, I think GOG didn't to much at all to address any of the problems that this game has on modern systems. Luckily, I have another computer with some very old hardware, built specifically for playing older games, so it's not a problem for me, but then again, the pirated version was not a problem either. On my primary computer, though, there are all kinds of problems - game can't be launched from the main menu, music is messed up, the game runs in a weird frame (nothing close to even 1600x1200 with interpolation), you name it.

jungletoad: I'm excited and I don't know why. I had never even heard of this game before seeing it on the GoG 10 most wanted list. I bought it because "everyone's doin' it." Come on bandwagon, don't fail me now!

Heh - I did the same thing
I remember reading about this game...vaguely.
Wishlisted.
I've waited ten years to get my hands on this game in a format that works on my current computer, and here it is. Wait until it's on sale for a reduced price? Hell no! I want my Outcast NOW!
Thanks, GOG! )

Playing the Outcast soundtrack while playing Masters of Orion = win.

Our awesome fellow community members have solved the full screen issue, still low res, but looks decent. It does involve a patch, but seems stable enough. Great game!

Just installed this now, and I noticed some odd mouse behaviour. It seems to be trying to stick to some default angle, though occasionally it might snap out for a split second. Is that normal? It happens in both 1st and 3rd person.
I already own a boxed, dual-CD release, but if this works complete with in-game redbook CD soundtrack on my flagship desktop and notebook, I'm buying it AGAIN.
(Especially since keeping the second CD loaded can be a bit bothersome, I can't make an image of it, and since it's a redbook audio soundtrack, that means that a no-CD crack would likely deny me the soundtrack.)
This is some good shit maaaan.

Well, yes. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't affordable legal distribution of old games the entire rationale behind GOG?
Belgium's greatest game!
