After releasing the first three installments of this acclaimed series, it was only natural to add Heroes of Might and Magic 4 to the lineup. We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we did!

I'm never getting this, but a nice release anyway.
Keep on diversifying the releases, maybe next time some Ultima's, System Shocks or Crusaders.

GOG, take my sister. And kidney. Or both of them. You need no kidneys to play Heroes 4 anyways.
At least I can throw away my retail version with Czech translation. It was weird to have text in both Czech and English while playing Equilibris mod.

HOMM IV - despised by many, loved by some...

There are numerous features distinguishing HOMM IV from it's noble predecessors, but one in particular stands out, proudly leading the charge; enter: single player campaigns.

Let's face it, all the previous installments, despite brilliant gameplay, were badly lacking in the SP department. Bleak characters, vauge briefings, not one memorable HERO or cutthroat. HOMM IV introduces rpg-style campaigns and oh, believe me - unless you are allergic to reading (which is a serious malady and should be treated accordingly) you'll love them. Character background? Check. Motivation? Check. Twisted plots? Check. Love? Check. Vengeance? Check. Vengance in the name of love? It's there. Love in the name of vengeance? You guessed it... It's all there, well written, believable and enticing.

My recommendation - go for it and don't look back.

I somehow skipped Heroes IV for some reason after III, so now I finally have a good excuse to play it! I hope it's better than Heroes V, didn't like that one very much, though I can't exactly tell why.

Just added my own review of the game, check it out, I really reccomend it! :)
Also: BIG props to GoG for adding the soundtrack! definitely the best soundtrack in the series!

I want but i have it in the big collection that had every heroes game and official expansion.

I swear i could be swayed so easily.

This is by far my favorite of the series. I know some people aren't crazy about letting the heroes participate in battles, or how that the heroes can get so powerful that by the end you almost don't even need an army in many of the fights, but I love it.
This game has the best stories of all the games, and the best game play. HoMM 5 might have better graphics, but I just can't seem to get into the game play that much. This game is just pure fun from the first campaign until the last. I also love how you can customize your hero to fit your own style of playing.
If you've never played this game you owe it to yourself to give it a try.
