The course of the future is in your hands. You are JC Denton, the last hope of humanity as it spirals into chaos.

Experience the opportunity to be a futuristic freedom fighter in Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition, here on GOG.com, for just $9.99!

Deus Ex is without a doubt one of the best, most influential games in history. PC Gamer and PC Zone both have named it the best PC game of all time. It has received countless numbers of “Best”, “Greatest” and “Top” game awards. The story of JC Denton is a perfect fusion of RPG, FPS, and adventure. The world of Deus Ex is immense, the storyline is ambitious and layered, and the freedom of choice guarantees high replayability.

Ancient conspiracies, secret agendas, political intrigues, twisted plots, nanotech-augmentations, difficult moral choices, twenty-four weapons, intense action, deep character customization - it’s all here and it truly combines into a cohesive whole. The depth of the in-game experience and interaction will engage you on a level unparalleled by any other game.

Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition is as close as you can get to the real year 2052 without growing really, really old for $9.99.
I already own this but would love to see Invisible War added to GOG, as I never did get that one...

taczillabr: You all know that buying the first game you are funding the next sequel, Deus Ex: Human Revolution 2? Right?

tfishell: Is that bad?
The opposite. I meant it's a good thing to buy DX1 from GOG.

Buying DX1 here drm-free sends a message to square enix, both about drm and about interest in the franchise. ;)
For what I'm reading here it seams Deus Ex has been already in so many other places (I have bought it in three different places during the past year) that it wont sell as much as the other big names of gog.

What a shame!
I CAME!

I've been waiting for YEARS for this game to come to GoG. Because of this one I'm going to forgive them for releasing Might & Magic 9.
Now it's time for System Shock... Give me Shodan, please!

Yes, but it's a freakin' Good/Great Old Game. (EDIT: AFAIK) I'm surprised by some of the unenthusiastic comments on here. I've never played it, and will probably buy it from here.

*Checks Steam*

Same price. Even if it was $5 I probably would buy it from here, as I have reasonable disposable income. Now, if it was $20 here and $5 there, well no. (Then again, compatibility issues...IDK)

What is the difference between GOG's Deus Ex GOTY version from GG's Deus Ex GOTY version? Looking at the download sizes I see a very big disparity with GOG's at 403 MB while GG's is at 1224 MB. It can't be SecureROM (GOG did remove the DRM, right?) and I doubt GG's Deus Ex has 800 MB of extras.

Anyone knows?
This is like my fourth copy of Deus Ex now. Steam, Direct2Drive, physical CD and now GOG. :D

I guess that after installing GOG's Deus Ex it also reaches a size of more than a gigabyte. Never used GG but it's quite possible that the file that you download from them has no (or at least weak) compression. After all, the game was originally published on only one CD and I'm quite sure that it's actual size after installing it was always about 1.2 GB.

Finally I can get this game DRM free!
if that'S what we get in exchance for an monday release of forsaken gods i'm for a release of arcania next monday. :D

finnaly i can move that game from the to-get to the to-play list. insta-buy.
I already own 3 copies of Deus Ex (and the original CD release didn't have any DRM anyway), but I'm interested in what version of the soundtrack they included in the goodies?
There are at least two different soundtracks for Deus Ex, it could be MP3 converted Impulse Tracker music from the PC version, or the orchestrated soundtrack from the PS2 version (there also was a soundtrack CD release, which I'm not entirely sure if it was the PS2 music or a combination of the PC/PS2 music, I know the version of the title song is the PS2 version, but it sounded like the airfield music was the PC music with an added acoustic guitar), if it's the latter, I'd pick up a fourth copy of the game, because the PS2 version had an amazing rendition of the classic Deus Ex music. :D

It always was though, unless you bought it on Steam. :)
The original game, like most Unreal engine 1 titles, neither used activation keys nor CD checks.

For this reason alone i will buy it, also Thief series, when it gets released .)

The original game, I still have the disk, has a simple CD check that can be easily defeated by editing the DeusEx.ini file. And this was the same for Unreal. But they will ask for the CD until you make that change. Maybe that was only in the U.S. version.
