Ever wondered what it would be like to be a ghost hunter, or what it's like to wander through a haunted house? Now is your chance, for only $5.99, minus your soul.
[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/dark_fall_the_journal]Dark Fall: The Journal is a first-person horror-adventure game with Myst-style point-and-click gameplay. Instead of a simple, jack-in-the-box "omigodzombieinthefridge!" horror theme, the game offers you constant suspense with unexpected, supernatural phenomena keeping you on your toes. Strange noises out of nowhere and voices whispering in your head will be your companions throughout the game. In light of recent disappearances in an old train station in a small town called Dowerton, your brother asked you to investigate. He thinks you're a good at these things, so it's up to you to discover what is really going on and uncover the place's dark secrets.
This could be worth a look. Adventure games, horror theme, Myst style.
I like a lot of these older adventures where you have to keep your own notes. I can understand why some hate that, but I find entertainment in keeping a physical notepad to flip through while playing.
Wishlisted. Will grab it when I finish the current adventure games I'm playing. (Or... Thursday payday.)

How did you manage to shoehorn an A and a C into the word "the"? :-D

I nearly choked on my tea from laughing.
This definitely appeals, although I think I already have it stored somewhere in my dusty old cellar. It's amazing how GOG makes you return to unplayed games that you've completely forgotten about!
I've never heard about it, but it looks interesting. I'll try this one.
It's quite a tough one if i remember. I think you also needed to manually make notes as the game doesn't do it for you. I've posted a review below (although the site is for hardcore adventure gamers so it may be a bit biased).

By being all like "lolwat 'The Journal' is missing from the title and we're displaying it in 5 seconds!". :P
It's funny that just 3 months ago I dug out my CD version of this and played through to completion.
If people want an interesting storyline with ambiguous clues this is the game for them. I found that I did have to keep my own notes during this one (mostly to connect the dots). Excellent sound and atmospere in this title. Often times had me thinking about the game even when I wasn't playing it.
Happy Halloween!
Oooh, since I'm a big AMBER:Journeys Beyond fan...and it's $5.99... I'll be getting this on payday Thursday. Looks promising.
Yay! More adventure games. My favourite!
Comments? I tried the demo and didn't like it, but maybe someone else can convince me to get it, as I'm a fan of horror games and adventure games.
The perspective system was what got to me. I mean, I like first person adventure games, but Darkfall felt too clumsy and unpolished.

Someone was obviously thinking about how ace this game is. Enough so that they got my interest. This is definitely on my to buy list for next week.
Looks very interesting. I'm getting it.

I thought it looked a DnD geek secretly wanting to type thac0.
I think I'll pass on this one. Let's see what next week brings.
