With four games and a bunch of additional content for each one, today's release of Battle Isle Platinum is one of the largest in GOG's history.

Battle Isle Platinum covers a huge chunk of the acclaimed turn-based strategy/tactics series and consists of:
- Battle Isle 1 including Data Disk 1 & Battle Isle ‘93 & Historyline: 1914-1918,
- Battle Isle 2 including Scenery CD “Titan’s Legacy”,
- Battle Isle 3 along with extensive video sequences,
- Incubation and the wilderness missions.
That's easily enough to keep your inner strategist busy for weeks, or months if you work for a living!

So, what is this series about, you ask? It's about strategy and tactics at their very finest. It's about using the units at your disposal to the best of your ability in order to achieve specific goals, rather than building an impenetrable fortress, preparing a massive zerg and spamming your enemy with it, rinse, repeat. Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, the Battle Isle series is about a deep, involving storyline with a huge backstory, both in-game and in "feelies". The latter are, of course, available with our release in digital form.

Go ahead and see for yourself why this series achieved cult classic status.
Holy cow, what an amazing release. GOG is really on a roll lately.

I don't know how well-known this series was outside Europe, but here it is/was crazy popular (especially Germany)

tburger: He/She just joined - I'm sure he/she will improve in time.

Schloop: Acutally, I joined a year before you did, but in any case I didn't know that your number of post is an indication of just how smart you are.

Or are you just the local troll?
Why did you have such impression? Just read carefuly post history: Aningan wrote about getting today's release from abandonware site. He was edited by Cook and I pointed that out + a remark that there are things more important than "save money - use torrents" motto. I'm far from stating that rep or join date indicates how smart you are but Aningan joined 3 months ago - I guessed he didn't know some rules are important for gogers.

Anyone know if these games comes with hotseat multiplayer? Basically, the ability for multiple people to play against each other on a single computer.

This time it's a price point by Ubisoft that's actually ok. You do get some really really good games that'll last you a long time with this one. [And the same package retails at £27].

While Battle Isle series itself is for good reason fairly well known Historyline is an overlooked gem.

They do. All of them (except Incubation).

Battle Isle 1 most certainly does, I have fond memories of playing that with a friend.
Wow, great package!
I only ever played Incubation, I remember it being quite hard, never played The wilderness missions. And I always wanted to check out the rest of the BI series, so thanks GoG for this opportunity. :)
And since this is a Blue Byte release, please please Albion next, I never managed to finish that game despite how awesome it was. It was my first major RPG title too.
No, God, no!!! The Battle Isles series!! I spent so many hours on the first three games!! How could I seriously not buy that??

Damn you, GOG, damn you! ^_^

Battle Isle 1 and HistoryLine for sure, it uses splitscreen. I played HistoryLine with a friend and it was really fun. Battle Isle 2 I can't remember.
Thank you.
Bloody Hell! YES!!! Incubation a Battle Isle! Thank you GOG! I freakingly love ya!
Now if you give us Ambermoon and Albion... well I may be thinking about being first man to marry a website...:)
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Incubation was my most wished GoG! Great job!

Bodkin: Blue byte? This means one thing. Albion is near. That will be big rival for DA2.
While I certainly hope we'll get Albion, Blue Byte (wholly owned by Ubisoft) has been on GOG for quite a while. The Settlers, remember?

Yes, but it was there for a long time. Maybe i should use "New Blue byte game?" instead.
This is excellent news! Definitely a classic series. Thanks, GOG!

Gamerlord: Thank you.
To make really sure - Battle Isle 2 / 3 have hotseat multiplayer. In the earlier games Battle Isle 1 / Historyline it's split screen with one side having their "production" round, while the other moves and attacks. Later Battle Isle's went with proper turns - you do both production and movement / orders on your turn, then all other players in the game have theirs.
