With four games and a bunch of additional content for each one, today's release of Battle Isle Platinum is one of the largest in GOG's history.

Battle Isle Platinum covers a huge chunk of the acclaimed turn-based strategy/tactics series and consists of:
- Battle Isle 1 including Data Disk 1 & Battle Isle ‘93 & Historyline: 1914-1918,
- Battle Isle 2 including Scenery CD “Titan’s Legacy”,
- Battle Isle 3 along with extensive video sequences,
- Incubation and the wilderness missions.
That's easily enough to keep your inner strategist busy for weeks, or months if you work for a living!

So, what is this series about, you ask? It's about strategy and tactics at their very finest. It's about using the units at your disposal to the best of your ability in order to achieve specific goals, rather than building an impenetrable fortress, preparing a massive zerg and spamming your enemy with it, rinse, repeat. Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, the Battle Isle series is about a deep, involving storyline with a huge backstory, both in-game and in "feelies". The latter are, of course, available with our release in digital form.

Go ahead and see for yourself why this series achieved cult classic status.

Mentalepsy: I have never even heard of this, but it looks kinda cool. Can anyone give me a quick summary of the gameplay?

Also, I'm confused about what's in this package. The highlights say six games, the blurb says four games, and the bottom of the game card says Battle Isle 1-3 plus something called Incubation.
BI 1 to 3 are turn based strategy games
Incubation is turn based tactics game, in the BI universe

I spend lot of time with BI2 (the AI thinking took lot of time in the days of 486) but never got to finish it. Finally I have a chance to do so :)
Does Incubation come with a 3dfx emulation or are the textures going to be unfiltered?

Battle Isle 1 - 3 + BI '93 + History Line are very good tactial war games.

Incubation is a sqaud based tactical game, which is among the ranks of X-Com and JA2

So it's 6 games + 3 Add-Ons (some of which are very big)

And a sh*tload of very good extras!

edit2: thanks to Snap-d I changed BI'93 to a seperate game

6 games - Battle Isle '93 was a seperate game ....
Incubation?

In-fucking-credible!!
The other BI games are nice too.
only one release for today ?
Blue byte...so good to see that name again...

anyway, this looks pretty interesting so wishlisted and hope to buy soon :)
Whilst this is a nice compilation, the only game I'm really interested in is INCUBATION.

I still have the original and both mission packs, but am not convinced if they support 3d acceleration on Win xp with a Nvidia GTX285. They run fine on an old Nvidia 5900 on win 98 ( an old gaming system I setup to play older titles ), but what about newer systems?

Can anyone confirm if the fancy 3d acceleration works in INCUBATION with the Gog version of this game?

The screen shots look very pixelated and spritey. I'm not buying until I get a definitive answer. So there ! ** stamps foot and gets stroppy **

SimonG: Incubation!!!! F*ck Yeah!

GOG, you just made my day!
+1
Awesome release!
It's basically the same package they sold in shops 10 years ago.

There's been a lot of confusion about the names of those games.

Battle Isle had two Data Disks, and the 2nd one was called Battle Isle '93 outside of Germany.

To make things more complicated, Incubation, which is set in the Battle Isle universe, is also called "Battle Isle Phase IV", not to be confused with "Battle Isle: The Andosia War", which is the fifth instalment of the Battle Isle series, but technically the fourth Battle Isle game, because Incubation and its Mission Pack don't count.

To me, the best thing about this GOG.com release is Windows 7 compatibility.

Nice release, that's a lotta game in one package.
I don't have the patience to play these anymore, but I remember playing them a lot when I was young.
I still remember that awesome little animation when you took over a base or building, of this trooper breaking through the door.
Definitely going to pick this up when it's on sale.
@Fortysixter

Hence my previous question.

You normally need a Glide wrapper to run Incubation with antialiasing. There are quite a few of those available, and you can even run the game at, say 1680x1050.

If the GOG.com release supports such things, too, it's an instant buy for me.
Waaaaaait.

Blue byte? This means one thing. Albion is near. That will be big rival for DA2.
I am impressed, it is a good release.

I remember playing the first Battle Isle's on Amiga. With Ugh! and Settlers Blue Byte became one of my favorite developers. Time to revisit some memories

Aningan: Incubation was one of the games I really liked. So a few days ago I wanted to post it as my "wish" in one of the wishing topics. But then I made a search for it and there it was on Abandonia. I'm guessing it's not compatible with Win7 but I'm not sure it's worth to pay just for Win 7 compatibility. Especially since I run dual boot with Win XP and I know for a fact that I played Incubation on XP with no problem.

So maybe when it's on a deal or something. Otherwise no sense in paying for something you can get for free.

EDIT by GOG: Let's not share links to "not so legal" downloads, ok.
Wow this is first time I saw gog edited user post :-)
You know actually all games here (and everywhere else) you can get for free - quickly and without any effort. But that's not the point...
