Okay, yeah, that's pretty bad. Not the worst I've ever seen, but still... not sure if it will stop me from buying it though, it almost seems like one of those "so bad its good" kind of things.

yeah it's a well-known fact that the voice acting is absolutely stupid. but the story is still good! just turn down the sound and read the shit.

I watched a couple more gameplay videos, I think the game looks great considering it is an almost 10 years old game.
I like subs and since I am not going to buy Silent Hunter 5 (thanks Ubi), I think I will invest in this. If nothing else, I will listen to the songs in the background, I really like them.

I just played through the first 15 minutes of the game. This voice acting is beyond bad.
It's clear that the writing is actually pretty good. You can tell that the author of the script was trying to craft a smart, futuristic version of a film noir style detective. It's just that the text gets butchered by the voice actors. The script is obviously too smart for them. They mispronounce words all the time and they don't seem to know what they are saying because they can't ever get the inflection right. At least the main character has some idea of how to act it out. Everyone else though... my God. Especially the women, that stuff is unbearable.
I'm not sure what to think of the gameplay yet. So far it is sluggish as hell, but you can upgrade your ship, so maybe it will get better.

Um yeah, thanks for the warning. Definitely turning off the audio. Would be nice if they had an option to turn off the VA. :P

Played this years ago; never finished it as it was a really hard game that had it fun spots, but frustrating points as well. Overall, good game that brings back mixed memories.

If I remember correctly the biggest sellingpoint of this games were the graphics, but in my book aquanox has always been some sort of gaming classic. But more in the history of gaming department instead of the gameplay department. I will buy it next month I think.

I've been doing some research on this, and to me, it reads like a remake of Archimedean Dynasty, instead of a sequel, with better graphics, actual voice acting (bad as it is), an worse character development over the course of the game...
Although it's supposed to be set after AD - and his sub gets stolen again. Damned careless of those hi-tech subs, isn't he? O_o
I think on the whole, I'd prefer a functional Archimedean Dynasty on gog, but what the hey. I'ma wish-listing this one for future :P
