16 campaigns, 17 nations, 76 missions, 150 units, and 321 years of American History.

American Conquest + Fight Back, one of the best attempts to recreate early American history in a strategy game, is now available at GOG.com for only $5.99.

Between 1492, when Columbus discovered America, and 1813, when the war of 1812 had ended, seventeen nations, from England to France--from Spain to the Sioux Nation--battled for domination over the American continent (or just some of its parts). Sure, you may be familiar with Pizarro's Expedition or the American War of Independence, but Alaskan campaign of the Russians or finding El Dorado by Ambrosius Ehinger will definitely teach you something about both tactics and history.

American Conquest + Fight Back follows the path of its predecessor Cossacks and mixes war strategy, battle tactics, and a simple economy. During the game you will expand your forts, increase your economic and scientific potential, and finally control larger and larger armies in epic battles. Gameplay mechanics were also improved by adding a diplomacy system and something resembling a morale system as your units may now even flee the battlefield when loosing heavily, while officers and military drummers can keep your battle formations stronger.

Whether you scream "Hoka Hey!", "¡Tierra y Libertad!" or simply "Yee Haw!" when going into battle, American Conquest + Fight Back is one of the finest history-based strategies for PC, especially when the game’s only $5.99 on GOG.com

TheEnigmaticT: Divided Nation is gone forever... *sighs*
Thanks for trying to get the rights. I'm not very big on RTS games but I know that some games will allow you to pause the game and make commands while paused. Is this one of those games? On a side note: Cossacks looks out of place on the GOG catalogue since it is not in alphabetical order.

EDIT: All is well on the catalogue. Thanks :)

It's too bad about Divided Nation...i was really hoping to see a GOG edition of it. The boxed version has starforce on it.

I guess Alexander will be even more difficult to get on GOG but here again it would be great.

Cossacks 2 and addon should be possible? We'll see.

Thanks GOG anyway and keep on trying to get Divided Nation...love the soundtrack.

Yes please! KOM is a brilliantly written, enormously fun and too little played adventure game, rich with locations, characters and things to say and do.

IMHO that is...

'Coming soon' for already too long a time...

I realize that this particular misspelling has practically become the norm, but surely those units are losing?
Heck yeah, it's a *very* good, fast-paced RTS in a setting not over-exploited by other titles. Also, unlike the unfortunate Cossacks+expansions, it has something that can be called an AI! (Even if it mainly spams units to send against you, it shows much more tactical prowess than Cossacks does, in my experience).
(Also, I recall it also has a nice random map generator, so you can just play those if you want /like I did/).
Sigh, yet another wargame and incomplete to boot.
There should be a law against sublicensing expansions.
Still, the release of the Thief series compensates everything to me :-).

Definitely not my cup of tea, but as always, I appreciate all the hard work you guys do in bringing these classics to us.
I look forward to every Tue. and Thurs. to see what new (or should I say old) gem you guys have in store for us.

I do wish that you had a mid-week sale every week, rather than every other, but at least it gives my wallet an occasional break.

Keep up the great work.
I have too much white guilt to play this game.

Should be a no-brainer, as DotEmu has it too, DRM-free.

Then you may play as Indians and kick the shit out of the white breads :P

Good to know. Such a feature is always much appreciated. So if I were to choose between one of them you think I should go for American Conquest... or should I wait for GOG's eventual Cossacks II release? How much did that one improve on the formula?

I'm not itching to spend money right now, but I am curious to know.

You read how GOG tried, though, right? :/
Guys, stop whining about the lack of "Divided Nation". Divided Nation is not an expansion, it's just some standalone stuff that was developed by a third party developer. And that's pretty much why I, being a fan of both franchises (Cossacks and American Conquest), really don't care at all about this. Just thank GOG for these great additions to the catalogue.
In any case, skip Heroes of Annihilated Empires if GOG ever releases that as well.
