I recently got given an old computer that was newer than the computer I had and am now able to play most games released all the way up to 2009! Woo!
The only one I've actually played so far though is Bloodbowl: Legendary Edition - it's pretty good, my friend had the board game version way back when so it's pretty nostalgic too, manages to be really faithful to the board game while still being lively and colourful despite the turn based nature (I haven't tried the real-time option, sounds a bit hectic)

F4LL0UT: Well, since most games I buy (thanks to GOG) are pretty old there's not many new games I've tried recently. And the question is how "new" you want it.

A couple of months ago I beat Batman: Arkham Asylum, which is just brilliant. Arkham City is newer and supposedly better (haven't tried it yet) so I guess that one's great if you're into exploration and beating the crap out of people.
That's right about where I am sitting. I finally picked up a copy for 9.99 not too long ago. I have moved onto Arkham city. There are some additions and tweeks to the fighting and scoring that took some getting used to, and the competition on the leaderboards seems stiffer, but both are about as perfectly well made as a game can be made. BTW don't skimp when it comes time to get Arkham city. Get the GOTY.

So far I've bought only the base game because for some fucking reason the DLC wasn't available in Poland when the game was on sale. I couldn't see it in the Steam store, my German buddy could - shortly after the sale was over the DLC suddenly appeared in the Polish store. Gotta hate Steam and its regional offers.

But honestly, I can wait with buying DLC until after I've beaten the base game, right? I thought the DLC is separate game modes and you don't miss out on anything when playing the main game without the DLC?
I hate to say it but it would be Diablo 3...

Now more than ever its fun to play and using the B2P format its totally worth it. Good time killer and tons-o-fun.

if its just new bought then its Divinty 2 Hands Down... love that game so much, its everything i wanted it to be ^_^ playing it for the first time is like breathing a breath of fresh mountain air from inside a temple of monks who are practicing Shaolin Kung Fu and there willing to teach you during the day while you get to use there hexacore computer with 10g of ram and a quad GPU at night....

Well it sounds like you are talking PC version and I think there may not even be a GOTY version for it (I couldn't find it). In this case you may not have the option. That said here the pricing difference for all the content you get makes economical sense.

Extra costumes, challenges and such you would need to get through the game for. The Catwoman pack does integrate with story mode on some level, though I waited a while before installing it. I personally like having all that stuff on disk in case in 10 years the DLC sources are down, and my box goes bust. I'm going to want this game long term.
Against all odds, I really liked "Jagged Alliance: Back in Action", with the community patch (thanks for the fellow GOGer for showing me a link to this!).

It was not like the good ol' JA2 but it was enjoyable nonetheless. Although, the lack of dual wielding pistols and SMG, the impossibility to create my own merc and the disparition of the funny cutscenes with Deirdranna saddenned me a bit.

Other than that, I recently bought Blood Bowl: Chaos Edition. I suck pretty badly at it (hey, I find the solo challenging!) but I like it!

And there is the Binding of Isaac, my little "I have 10 to 30 minutes to lose" game. A must have and a must play, for me. :)
My family and I got Rayman: Origins

This quite possibly is the best, local hotseat game I've played in years. My wife, 8 year old, and I are all able to play it together.

The artwork is fresh and amazing.
For multiplayer, you can drop in/out whenever you want (so I can help my kid out, then go do something else)
The level designs are simialr, yet each level somehow remains fresh
It's challenging, but not insane

As I get older (31 now), I tend to enjoy casual games more and more... simply cause I don't have the time for major RPGs.

I got it on sale for $15, and it caused us to get all the Rayman games on here. We're probably gonna get Rayman Origins 2 when it comes out without waiting for a sale... and we're budget/deal-seekers.

XCom or Borderlands 2.
Mark of the Ninja, Dishonored, Inquisitor and Orcs Must Die 2.

I had hoped for a more challenging apporach in MOTN, a less buggy/unfinished version of Inquisitor and less amount of unnecessary text (more unique questions/answers), a story with actual depth in Dishonored and less action and more traps in OMD2 but otherwise all four excellent games.
Very difficult.

X-Com is a hot contender. But I also had a real blast with Sleeping Dogs. Which is really not recognized enough as a nice little Honkong GTA clone.
