Kabuto: Are you sure that applies to all games past and present?
avatar
Delixe: No it only applies to games that use the EADM and retail games like C&C Red Alert 3 activatied on it still have the activations the retail copy had. However games purchased from the EA Store are your's for life. They will give you any activations you need.
Interesting. And what's the matter with EA games purchased in other DD stores. I bought DAO and ME2 from D2D and activated the product keys in EADM.
I can confirm the following:

Dead Space from Steam works.
Dragon Age: Origins DDE from GamersGate works.
Mass Effect from Steam works.
Mass Effect 2 DDE from GamersGate works.
Mirror's Edge from Steam doesn't give you a key so you can't register it. The DLC doesn't work with the Steam version either.
Here's a full list of what I have tried:

I think Dead Space didn't have the View CD key option but it had a register game option or something like that. If not check the registry for this entry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Dead Space\ergc

The value should be your CD key.

For Mass Effect try to register your key in this link: https://activate.ea.com/applyentitlement.do
Use the same email account that you use for EADM.

On another topic. I've found that EADM crashes if I leave the friends list open while playing. There was no message when it crashed but the overlay stopped working and the EADM tray icon disappeared when I exited the game. If I just leave the browser open I can play for hours without it crashing.

Delixe: Crysis Retail - No
Sad panda. :(

Any chance of that being sorted out if I contact EA support?

Possible. I haven't thought to ask as I think it's a bit cheeky but then again it's really, REALLY nice to have digital backups of your retail games. I don't think it's that unreasonable to ask for games that are available on the EA Store to also sync with retail keys.

OK, I'll give it a shot. Main reason is that my drive is nearly dead and doesn't like most DVDs. I have to make an image on my home PC (which died like two days ago, so that is out of the question), then install the game and search for a proper 64 bit crack for Windows 7 which sadly doesn't exist. :(

Therefor, the EADM version would be nice. I'll ask support.

Thank you!

Mas Effect activation does not work even on that link. I will try Dead Space once I get home.
Games you can't register:
Spore (The Game itself)

Games you can register:
All Spore Extensions

:)

Okay, the game is shit, but anyhow it is a EA Title that uses the Download Manager :)
And because of that I wonder why it is not possible to register the original game ;)
