livefree: Actually how does user created content work for an mmo, I never played an mmo like that before. I mean if it's user created doesn't that mess with the persistent world. Say someone can make a map where XP would be super easy to get or godly drop and stuff. Or is it like you can make content but it's very restricted etc.
In CoH there were a lot of farming missions created, and I even used one once to get quickly to level 20, because I wanted a new character with two costumes for a costume contest. On the other hand there were story arcs created with nice stories.

In EQ2 I found that all dungeons gave more XP than I wanted. On the other hand they didn't have stories because it was hard to create stories in that limited system. So I didn't like it that much.

Personally I don't see the problem with getting XP or loot. If people want to get up the level quickly, let them do that. I prefer to go up slowly and experience the content.

Cormoran: [At which point, just like in STO they can have the players pay them to make the content (yes, you read that right, you have to pay them money to be able to create content for them), So now us gamers are doing their jobs for them and paying them for the privilege.
Lol, what a deal! Also you mentioned spending over a grand so I was thinking thats like the entire gog catalog on winter sale...

Parvateshwar: With MMOs they can ignore story, AI, voice acting, interface, combat, character design, and just rip everything off from WoW.

Soyeong: It's almost as though you think WoW was an original concept.
They ripped their model off from Everquest who ripped off the original Neverwinter MMO as well as a few other 90s online games. WoW is just successful and no one will attempt innovative ideas while there is a hugely successful model that is defining the market.
