gamefreak1972: I wouldn't call the bullying groups organized OR disciplined in any sense of the words; they are as likely to turn on each other as someone else as a target.
This sounds like some sort of pre-tribal society... "state of nature", as some like to call it xD. gamefreak1972: I'm not sure how high schools handle lunch situations anymore, my time in those sorts of hellish places is long since done :)
Awww... I remember high school as some of the nicest days of my life. Then again - our "most popular girl in school" had discussed integer overflow prevention in Pascal with me, so I guess social intrigue wasn't exactly conducted on a very overt level...
It's one of the things that seem so "obvious" to me, yet I have never experienced them first-hand... Quite disconcerting.
gamefreak1972: Odd you should mention religion, because here it seems that religion makes some of the meanest people around - I'm not saying *all* by the way, I know some very kind religious people too. I'm hoping its just a states thing though, I can't say I've seen it in the other countries I've visited (emphasis on visited, it may be a very different view had I lived there).
Being the bastion of Christianity in Europe, I think there are too many religious people here to correlate... On the other hand - anti-religious people tend to be quite obnoxious, as you might imagine ;P.
