Hmmm.. gurgling noises coming from inside this thing.
"GUYS LISTEN IF YOU CAN HEAR ANYTHING RIGHT!"
I shout to the crazies, and of course poor bleeding Charlie mayherestinpeace.
I'm thinking - I wonder if this vent leads anywhere else, where maybe a certain gurgling critter can pop up. Seems like a simple plan but it might achieve something if those dang crazies can get it together enough to listen out.
I shout into the vent - "ALALALALALALAA!"
You shout into the vent and watch to see what happens. The sound persists, seemingly not changing in tone or intensity.

OOC: Yes poor Charlie. I hope someone heals him soon or he gonna die. :\
OOC: Well, if you insist.

Use first aid kit with Charlie.

SirPrimalform: OOC: Well, if you insist.

Use first aid kit with Charlie.
Picking up the first aid kit, you go over to where Charlie lays as some of the others merrily ransack the supply closet and the Bunkroom guard station.

"Dammit....they're gonna get all the good stuff" you think to yourself as you open the kit and survey it's contents. This is where you shine though......in the manipulation of flesh to various ends. Usually it's flesh that's been dead for some time, and most of your prior experience has been with small animals found here and there, but stitching is still stitching & bandaging a wound is like second nature to you.

Inside the kit you find bandages(both the stick on kind and the rolled kind you find in hospitals), antiseptic spray, antibiotic cream, and other assorted basic first aid supplies. Picking up a roll of bandages and the antiseptic spray you place them on the ground next to you as you lift the torn arm of Charlie's coat to find a makeshift bandage(apparently made of a ripped up bath towel) covering most of Charlie's upper right arm. Removing it you see that the wound(what looks like a two inch long series of bite marks and gashes along the middle of Charlie's upper arm)has started to become infected as discolored pus(fluids, blood, etc) covers most of the wound area.

"Gah, this seems bad.......well at least it doesn't look to be gangrenous yet." you say to Charlie as you ready your scalpel by spraying it with antiseptic. "I'm gonna try to be as careful as possible here but id' recommend you take one of those pillows there are bite on it or something while I operate."

"Operate?! Is....is that necessary?" Charlie asks as he eyes your scalpel with nervous eyes. You wonder if it's due to an aversion to surgery/being cut or the fact that it's a patient that's about to operate on him as you explain to him that the wound has to be irrigated and cleaned before you can bandage it up to avoid risk of further infection.

"Ok then, but be careful ok?" Charlie says as he grabs a pillow from the couch he's laying on and places one edge between his teeth.

"I'll try not to make you into a limbless war veteran or anything." you joke before setting to work......carefully cutting the dead or infected tissue from around the wound, using some of the bandages to mop up the small amounts of blood flow and whatever pus covers the wound area. Within minutes most of it is cleared away though, and you eye your work with pride before grabbing the antiseptic spray and applying a liberal amount to the wound as well as some of the antibiotic cream.

Wrapping the affected area in bandages and tying it off carefully, you then set your sights on the wound on Charlie's belly.

"Well that bit's done.....now for the second course." you say as you examine it in detail. Luckily for him it doesn't seem to you to be too bad. The cut, while long(3+inches) isn't deep and doesn't look to be in need of scalpel work. Taking some more bandages from the roll you wipe the area clean of any blood and spray it with antiseptic spray and apply antibiotics to it as well before taking a large area bandage(dunno what they're called) and applying it to the wound site. After you've finished you rip the torn end off of Charlie's coat(the right arm portion which was torn) to make future cleaning of the wound easier before you offer your "patient" some of your Venison Jerky to help speed recovery.

"Thanks. I haven't eaten in who knows how long." he says as he accepts a few pieces of jerky, placing them on his chest before starting to eat them with a look of appreciation on his face.

Putting the unused supplies back in the kit, you stand up and tell Charlie to finish eating and get a bit of rest in if possible. "And don't go moving unless it's necessary....I don't want to have you dying on me so soon after all that fine work I just did."

"No problem......hmm, I just had a funny thought. It's kinda ironic now, what with me being your patient now and you being the "doc" and all, ain't it? I never thought i'd see the day you guys would be tending to me at any rate." he says as he finishes the jerky and lays back once more.

You just smile and chuckle a bit in reply to lighten the mood as you put the rest of the jerky away and think about what to do next.

Do the creatures in the vent appreciate the singing?
Do they give a standing ovation?
Are they even there?
How easy does it look like it will be to get the vent cover off?
Feeling pretty damn manly and awesome for saving Charlie's life, I head over and examine the shower supply closet and then search it for items.

OOC: It looks like it's wedged into the frame pretty solidly. You could look around for a tool to remove it...wink wink. ;)

(Check Nickel's items n the bag on the bench back in the hall perhaps? ;)....)

Before I head back tothe hall, are there any signs of life inside the vent?

"Well that takes care of Ol' Charlie." you think as you look around while trying to decide what to do next. "Bundy is checking out the closet, Coleman is checking out the Guard Station, Frank is out patrolling the hall......I think.......and Staines is checking out the bathroom. I guess that leaves the shower supply room for me, then."

Heading into the shower supply room, you fumble for the light switch on the wall near the door and flip it without hesitation. BAD move. Sparks fly from the switch plate and you receive a mild shock straight up your arm as you are knocked to the ground. Lucky for you, you aren't injured beyond a small singe mark on your middle and index finger on your right hand.

"Well shiiiii-it, ain't that a kicker." you say to yourself as you get up off the ground. Within the supply room the light flickers on and off every so often before staying on permanently.....albeit in a dimmed state. Entering the room, you look around as best you can in the dim light. The room itself is mostly bare.....not much inhabits the room beyond two large cupboards against the western wall.

Opening the first you are greeted with the familiar sight of clean towels of various sizes. Searching through them you find nothing much of use to you at the moment so you move on to the second. Inside the second cupboard you find even more bathing supplies.......bars of soap, bottles of shampoo & conditioner, toothpaste & toothbrushes, etc. line the shelves within. Searching through them you find not much of use to you at the moment, sadly.

"Well not unless I plan on taking a bath or a shower anytime soon." you think before grabbing a few toothbrushes & tubes of toothpaste, along with some bar soap & a few hand towels. "Might as well not make this a total loss.....who knows if i'll need any of this or not later on."

OOC: Is this OOC? Just asking(not to nitpick too much) if you do OOC chat next time you can preface it with OOC:?

As for the vent.....the vent has narrow slats in it and is very dark inside. Beyond the noises that can be heard within nothing can be discerned, as it is too dark to see within.

Barnell: After not finding any thing of use I decide it time to come out of the closet. Felling like a great burden has been lift I walk into the bathroom to see if its safe, keeping one hand on my gun.
You enter the bathroom to collect your thoughts, keeping one hand on your gun just in case you encounter any trouble.

I shine my torch into the vent.
You shine your light into the vent, but with the cover in place you can't see much.

OOC: The slats are very close together and very thin, so they're hard to see through.
I'll head back to the hallway & rummage through Nickel's bag.

OOC: Can I get a list of what's in there?

OOC: It's on the Mafiuh Mafia signups thread here
Seeing that I have the changes I take some time to search the stalls in bathroom
Being all kitted up with soap and such, I decide the only place to go from here is into the bathrooms to have a look around (and maybe take a shower).
