You might try True Achievements.

They're a member of the Xbox Community Developer Program too. Somewhat similar to xbox360achievements, but slightly different. Lots of guides on how to get achievements in various games, news like Deal of the Week and coming games. All in all, a good site with a fairly mature crowd.

Hey, neat site, thanks!

Unfortunately, moving to console won't allow you to escape this kind of thing. Console vs console fanboyism isn't really any better. It's best to just play what you like on what you like to play it on and don't pay much attention to what anyone else thinks about it.

StingingVelvet: Shit man, why bother?

To be quite honest, if anybody was being elitist here, it were you two. FAButzke pretty much just fell for your trap. You like to jump on the "consoles are good and you are a elitist" whenever somebody just mentiones he doesn't like consoles. You sound like those NRA people that already start huffing and puffing when the words "guns and control" are only mentioned in the same text. (I can't come up with a liberal example, but just pretend there was one for equality sake). You are defending something that usually isn't assaulted and by that you evoke the responses you thought was the original claim. But it wasn't.

I'm not saying you two are the only to blame here, but there is an equal amount of blame to be spread around.

(And I'm a pc gamer who prefers his games with a gamepad, so I'm untouchable!)

You're totally misrepresenting my statements. I'm not "going console" to get away from PC elitism, that has nothing to do with anything. I am getting a supplemental console and want to talk about it somewhere less PC focused.

I didn't see it happening that way at all. Fabutzke flatout admitted he was a pc elitist, and then went on to talk about a bunch of things that Stinging Velvet indicated he didn't want to hear about from possible pc elitists ( basically how the consoles are shit). What''s the point of even bringing that up when the OP made it obvious he didn't want to discuss it here? Then he laughed at the idea of console gamers being mature, and said console gamers are unpleasant.

And I'm a console gamer and a pc gamer, so I'm truly untouchable

Ah crap, I was in the wrong thread. Alright, here Fabutzke is the bad guy, no argument. My bad.

BUT, I still hold Orcish responsible for seeing communist were there aren't any. It is a common sight here on the forums, imo.

And I prefer console style games but I like to play them on the PC (with a gamepad). Try touching me now!

orcishgamer: While I agree that PC gaming should be better than it is, I think your conclusions are insane, go look at the thread about about "not buying games new". Every time the subject comes up all the PC gamers jump up and say how they're happy to never have to pay over 5 USD for a game. Lmao, maybe, just maybe, THAT'S what is keeping super special PC games from coming out. You wouldn't have fuck all to play in the last 3-4 years if the console players hadn't been subsidizing most of it for you (okay, I'm exaggerating, but you'd have maybe 20% of the currently available titles).
Then again, according to console game publishers, 9 out of 10 console gamers buy their games second-hand, which brings the publishers no money whatsoever, even that $5. :)

I'm pretty sure most console gamers would also happily pay only $5 for their games, second-hand or not. The major reason that is pushing PC game prices down is the wealth of options for PC gamers, even including freeware (not talking about piracy). Too much competition currently in the PC gaming market.

If we wanted the console game pricing model to PCs too (where even 6 years old games still cost 20€ and up even in retail, not 2.50€ like on PC), we need more control, and less backwards compatibility. Microsoft should start controlling and restricting what games, especially indie games, get released for Windows PC, and at which price points. Maybe they will eventually achieve that with MS Store.

At the same time, Windows 8 should not be able to run Windows XP games, if not for other reason but to be able to resell the same old games in HD editions. There are too few HD remakes on PC currently, compared to consoles.

If anything, companies like GOG should be blamed for increasing the availability of older PC games to gamers, hence pushing the PC game prices further down.

Yeah, I'm the bad guy.
Call the Avengers, quick!

Sorry for bringing up my opinion on the matter. It won't happen again.

Eurogamer forums are pretty good. Thanks.
