OK I Call bullshit on this news

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.391923-Dragon-Age-3-May-be-Biowares-Biggest-Game-Yet

"There biggest game yet, and DRAGON AGE 3 HAS BEEN IN PRE PRODUCTION LONG BEFORE ORIGINS!?"

I thought SWTOR was the biggest game they ever made $200,000,000 budget anyone?

I think It's "in pre-prod for longer than DAO" and not "in pre-prod long before DAO".

Also apparently, it's the biggest game the guy they quoted worked on... not the biggest game Bioware ever made.
When I was reading "Jon Perry said just one level in DA3 is as big as all of DA2's levels", I immediately thought "And other levels?"
I like a majority of Bioware games but their latest PR stuns woke my inner cynic up :(. I keep my fingers crossed for good outcome.

I just hope they keep David Silverman away from any DA3 marketing after his DA2 stunt.
If they just mean larger open areas within the world map, i.e. the forest is bigger, then yay. If they at all mean open world game then they are stupid.

Surely it is the former though.

I wonder if this is because of larger RAM in the next console generation. DA3 is a fall 2013 game which is when the new consoles launch.
DA3? I don't think so. Not after DA2.

I'll be too busy with actual good games from Kickstarter anyway. And my gigantic GOG backlist.

Wrong genre if you hate dungeons. Even the outdoor areas are dungeons in these types of games.

Also the beginning of DA:O depended on character choice.

No shit bro.

However the overhead tactical combat genre is typically not among them. We can pretend all RPGs are the same though, if it pleases you.

Piemaster: I thought Bioware committed sepuku after mass effect 3? No? :(
you mean Stanry Woo, end of Rine?

He got fired some time ago
Wont be touching this with a barge pole.

I enjoyed Dragon Age Origins. Got pissed off with the sequel considering bland reused levels, no matter what you did the ending was the same etc.

The fact they mentioned you will have more character customisation and then they say oh you can only be human again thats not much of a change from number 2 then so no not as much as the first game it seems.

I have lost faith in bioware used to love them then they did DA2 and although i enjoyed Mass Effect 3 then ending killed any hope i had for Bioware future releases.

USERNAME:BadDecissions#Q&_^Q&Q#GROUP:4I am so glad that this game is being made in spite of DA2's poor reception, and I don't care if I'm the only one. Not actually a whole lot of detail being given, though, and their boast that "one level in Dragon Age 3 is as big as all of Dragon Age 2's levels" doesn't fill me with excitement, because I didn't actually like the Deep Roads megadungeon in DAO. Bigger isn't always better.

That was the big dwarf dungeon towards the end of the game.
