Chances are, most of you have heard a snippet of one or two of Lady Gaga's songs. It's typical, popular pop. However, most of you probably haven't watched her music videos. I hadn't either, because I'm not a big fan, but a friend linked me to this video for the song Alejandro;

What the fuck? It's like some creepy bondage dungeon up in there! This has to be the longest music video since Thriller, and there's a costume change every ten seconds. The uniforms are pretty close to Nazi attire, and there's a bunch of kind-of cross-dressing.
This makes it even creepier that Kidz Bop 18 or whatever has kids singing this fucking song.

That was a waste of 10 seconds, and that was for reading this thread. Seriously, lady gaga, doesnt deserve any more reading about.

IDK my clubber friends seem to be raving crazy over her songs, though they do agree she looks like a man.

I would actually go so far as to say she looks like a drag queen.

Lady Gaga is a brilliant performer. I've heard that her shows are incredible. Her music is creative and catchy, not complete trite like most pop. Its no surprise that her music video is so homoerotic though; she caters a lot to her gay fans. I still respect her more than 99% of pop musicians.

She is pretty much following the young Madonna playbook;she knows that shock and outrageous behavior sells.
The question is whether she has themusical talent to back up the outrageous behavior the way that Madonna did.I don't see many signs of it. She has an OK singing voice, but I find her music bland and not nearly as good as Madonna's was.
And it remians to be seen when it reaches the point where her antics just draw a "It's just Gaga at it again, who cares?" she can reinvent herself in a more mature image the way that Madonna could..

Lady Gaga basically built her career on two concepts: "How weird can I look?" and "How much money can I earn on the side through completely shameless product placement in my videos?"

My brain just exploded and imploded at the same time. I've never watched any of the videos either and, honestly, they scare the hell out of me.

She has C&C references in her videos. She can't be that bad.

We had to watch some Lady Gaga video in class (don't remember which, they're all the same) about ten times for product placement analysis. It was AWFUL.
