LkMaxBr: Well, depends on what genre you like. My favorite ones are:

- The Godfather
- Black
- Scarface: The World is Yours (Had many features used in GTA IV and GTA V but back in 2006, like multiple characters with different habilities - henchmans - and the police chase by block mechanic)
- Any GTA if you haven't played them on PC already
- Mercenaries: Playground Of Destruction
Well, I like RPG's, FPS's, Action games , Adventure games, Horror, Racing ...

JudasIscariot: Dude, dude! Stop posting right now and get The Warriors ASAP! It's one of those rare movie based games that is actually good! :D

voslobandre15: Is it really so good ?
One of the best fist fighting games I had the pleasure to play. It's a pity there wasn't a PC version but at least I can replay it on my PSP :D

voslobandre15: Racing ...
Sorry for being so obvious, but Gran Turismo 4. It sold a heap, so should be easy to come by too.
Add Red Dead Revolver to the list.

Should I play Gran Turismo 3 before Gran Turismo 4 or should I go directly to Gran Turismo 4 ?
At that rate, you'll be purchasing a PS4 in 2026. Just kidding, I know it's for the nostalgia factor.
I still have my Ps2. Unreal Tournament is one of our favorites here for that system. Up to four player split--screen with bots (although not that many) with an ample amount of maps.
well a playstation 2...that's a very nice present since it has a lot of beautiful games. I remember getting my playstation and beeing incredibly happy about even if I bristled against consoles for a long time.(Got Lord of the Rings 2 in addition but it was one of the few broken games along with Demon Stone I ever experienced :D) I already have my Playstation for about 9 years now and it is still running perfectly while my xbox 360 surrendered after a year <.< so it seems to be a very reliable console.
games I would like to recommend to you :
-Drakan
-Hulk (the first game I played on it, I remember it to be exciting but that can be nostalgia xD)
-Champions of Norrath (co-op is fabulous)
-Legacy of Kain series
-Summoner
-Silent Hill 1,2,3,4
-Spyro series (as you have mentioned that you are playing Crash Bandicoot)
-Croc 1,2 ( for psone but with the right memory card that should be no problem - excellent jump n run)
-Pitfall (psone jump n run- a decent game)
oh, and merry christmas to you and everyone, too. I hope you will have a lot of fun with your PS :)

voslobandre15: Hello and Merry Christmas to everyone. I just got a Playstation 2 console and i want some recommendations on what games I should buy. Now I'm playing only Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex (borrowed from a friend).

Thanks
I really enjoyed Destroy All Humans. Of course I was around 10 at the time, so it was very fun. If you like humorous alien invasion games, this one is for you. Although it is kind of short.

If you love the classic Resident Evil's like 2 and 3 I recommend Resident Evil Outbreak file 1 and 2.
I'm gonna pitch an oddball here and say King's Field: The Ancient City. It's a surreal and lonely first-person dungeon crawl made by Dark Souls studio From Software. In fact, the Souls series is in many ways an update and refinement of the King's Field series.

King's Field isn't as difficult as Dark Souls, but it's also not as approachable, if that makes sense. Building up your character and making progress is very slow going at first, but that's just part of the game's hypnotic charm. It is very much a niche game, but it's worth a look to see if you fit into that niche.
I saw some Rule of Rose suggestions. Don't do it. It's not worth the $60+ dollars you'd have to pay. I encourage you to watch a LP of it, as the music and story are utterly fantastic, but the gameplay is so horrendously frustrating that you'd have to physically force yourself to get through it.
Ooh I was playing the PSX version of Driver 2 from the original media on an emulator recently and saw that it also supports PS2 - how good is PS2 emulation speed wise on a modern PC?
(like I need a bigger backlog but still...)
If you have any model of PS2 other than SCPX-9XXXX and would like a memory card set up to run homebrew apps, I could do that for you if you can cover shipping it here and back. Although I'm sure there are people closer to you who could do that.
