Here at GOG.com, we're all about our users and the partners who decided to join the crazy ride into the DRM-free PC gaming. We stick with them through sickness and health, the good and the bad times. As you may have heard, JoWooD is having some tough times lately. Together with the publisher we've decided to give you a chance to get your hands on all the JoWooD titles you're eagerly wanting to buy, but maybe haven't yet. Well, now's your chance to grab those gems at a heckuva bargain!

In this special week-long promo we encourage everyone to get JoWood games with an up to 75% discount! The catalogue includes such gems from PC gaming's past like , [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/gothic_2_gold_edition]Gothic 2, , [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/the_guild_gold_edition]The Guild and more. If you buy all games from JoWood's catalogue, or complete the collection, you'll receive a 75% discount! If you're interested only in some games from the offer, you can still get them for bargain with 60% off! The promo ends on Tuesday, May 3 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

Since you guys are all going to be asking: we don't know what the future holds for JoWooD. To be safe, though, we recommend that you download any JoWooD titles you've purchased--either from this promo or not--and archive a backup of the GOG installer, because it never hurts to be safe.

Popinjay: Developers should go bankrupt more often.
Lol

Pheace: Awesome.

Although the thought of the games possibly not being available anymore some time soon is not a compelling one.

I like the thought of 'owning' them. A thought which is kind of lost if Gog loses access to these games after purchase. Sure I can keep them on my disc, but it's not quite the same.
They would still be on your account, just no longer available for purchase.

tburger: Will there be weekend promo this week as well? If yes I'll hold until Frioday with purchases.
We know it's not a weekend promo, but it's so huge and so awesome that we'll skip the weekend deal this time ;p
"Nice, you own all games from this promo."
I already own the best of this bunch: Painkiller, Gothic 2, Spellforce, The Guild. Nice promo, though!

Nor download possibly. That's the part I'm talking about :) If they were still there like I purchased them, that'd be ok. I don't care if they're still up for purchase. What I don't like however is even the download possibly being taken away after purchase.

As GOG states: we should download them "in case" they have to remove it (even from our accounts).

I must say I completely agree with Pheace, I think my GOG shelf would look very empty without JoWood games.
As far as I'm aware: the titles that went off GOG's catalogue previously and were bought by members before that were kept in their catalogue (Rising waters, Operation Flashpoint)

Does that mean that any purchased titles from JoWood's catalogue will also remain in my library if I purchased them? Or are they going to dissapear? what is going to happen?

Some Official answers would be nice

Pheace: Did any of those past removals happen because of bankruptcy?
No. Rights issues to material present in the games (brands for the racing games, music for Operation Flashpoint, and idunnowhat for Hostile Waters).

I really have no desire to play any of these games, but for some odd reason I feel a weird sensation to click buy. Darn you GOG!

I just feel uneasy buying a game that I can no longer download. Brings back to many memories of how it felt when GOG disappeard. Just a punch to the gut. Thankfully I woke up from that nightmare. But in the end not being able to play these games at all is also a punch to the gut.

As stated in the newspost, we don't know what the future holds for JoWooD and that's why we recommend backing up all JoWooD games you have, just in case.
EDIT : removed.

Smannesman: Oh come on, I already own all the good games in this sale.
It's like you don't want me to buy from you GOG.
Same here. Oh well, next time, then.
bought them all, will download and back them up all tonight :)
If you're an adventure fan and haven't picked them up already, do buy the two Dark Fall games off this sale. Great value for the money, unique atmospheres with solid writing, and puzzles that aren't just "use every combination of items on everything in hopes you'll get it right". No possible ways to break your game by missing an item, either.
