StingingVelvet: I wonder if it would feel more right on a controller, it was an Xbox game first as I recall.
Nope, I'm sure that version came out about six months to a year later.

Hmmm, im pretty sure release was simultaneous accross both platforms.
The accuracy of the blaster riffle is much better in alternate attack :)

/e: This game is fantastic! I really hope to see it on GOG soon. Regards!

The "Imperial Repeater" is even worse. The whole game is engineered heavily towards getting you to use the lightsaber as often as possible. It's like how in Tron 2.0, the other weapons were neat, but ultimately novelties compared to the Identity Disc. The only other really useful weapon in that game was the Rod Primitive, for making stealth derezzes (and vamping a healthy portion of energy). Likewise, the Molecular Disruptor Rifle in JK2 is your other best friend next to the saber. Especially when every other enemy is a Rodian armed with one.

Yeah I always thought that was weird, especially considering the Repeater in the two previous games had almost pinpoint accuracy. Lightsaber, Disruptor, and Concussion Rifle are the useful weapons, in that order, in both Outcast and Academy. And the blaster pistol is useful in the beginning and the EMP rifle is useful against droids... but the other weapons might as well not exist.

I liked the bowcaster.
The Thermal Detonators are always fun, as always. The Merr-Sonn missile launcher, too. Even more fun is using Force Push on missiles launched at you. It works on blaster bolts, too, but not as efficient a use of Force energy.

wait force push worked on blaster bolts? huh ... I remember lightsaber blocking them ... I never even tried force push. :)

I too liked dropping detonators on unsuspecting stormtroopers - the remote demolition packs we less useful I found, but fun on the occasion when they were useful (trigger the stormtrooper'a AI to come running at you around the corner or outside the door and blast them all ...).

Level 3 Force Push worked on anything that moved, and didn't have any Force resistance. This usually excluded other Jedi and Dark Jedi. And Admiral What's-His-Face's Power Loader rip-off. You couldn't Push AT-ST's, but you could Push their "Heavy Blaster/Cannon" bolts.

Ah yes the large energy bolts from the AT-STs, now I remember. I thought you meant stormtroopers' blaster fire could be intercepted by force push. :)

Those too.
For the E-11, use the secondary fire (or was it primary fire) i.e., the one that's slower. The E11 has crap detection. If you just fire away at full auto, you're going to run out of ammo real fast. You'll have better luck with guns once you get the Bowcaster.

The Bryar pistol works too. It's very accurate, and hits on the dot where you aim your crosshair at. A fully charged Bryar will take out a stormtrooper in one hit.
He's going to rage so hard once he gets to the cantina....
