Now look I'm not causing a service war here or anything so please do not say "Origins suck,Steam and GOG FTW!" ok. To this day I have never played any Battlefield's online multiplayer, because I've never had a good PC or Internet connection, but now I do and I really want to try out Battlefield 3's multiplayer, but it is (so far) an Origin exclusive. Now I am aware of this whole negativity against Origin because it's from EA, but is it really that bad? Beside all I want to do is buy the game and play it that is all no chatting in the forum community etc.etc. just play their games that is all and also to take a look at SWTOR as well ,so please I'm sure there is someone here who used it to tell me how does Origin handle

Lol, not a common response you'll get here. For quite a number of people here Steam is about as despised as Origin is on Steam ^^

I've had BF3 from release. If you really just want to play it, get it. Origin 'works'. That's not really an issue.

I'm not fond of the way BF3 works but that's something else. I don't like the way you need to use your browser, update browser plugin half the time, then when you select server in browser it loads the game. Then you find out punkbuster is out of date and kicking you out so you need to update that. And even then sometimes the game just doesn't load properly or even just kicks you to desktop sometimes I seem to remember.

BF3 in itself is decent though, although I can't say it got me nearly as excited as BC2, nor had me playing anywhere near the same length of time, but perhaps that was because BC2 was the first time for me in that sort of experience. It's not a bad game.

If you're getting it though, do manually download the punkbuster client before playing the game and update it for BF3.

XmXFLUXmX: Their IM help center is setting the standard for good support.
Do you have any recent experiences? Because from what people around and some more experienced people here have been saying it's pretty much gone to the dogs lately. Outsourced to India or something. The resident Japanese guy... forgot his name mentioned it last time. Fox didn't even manage to get a game activated even though he knows others did I think.
So disregarding all the different service wars etc. The main thing that keeps me away is the history of taking away access to games as a result of "them not liking you". It's been specifically reported in forum cases, but that's an unnecessary distinction, and it makes me feel uncomfortable. Once a company crosses that line it takes a lot to get the trust back.

Apart from that they're just another DD service. They have DRM, they overprice (in my opinion), and they are being bullies with exclusivity (perhaps rightfully so). However as a service, with that in account, not much else wrong. They'll sell you a game, you can download it there and then, and it will run, otherwise you'll get support.
Ive had an Origin account (had a Steam account for lot longer though) since getting BF3 on release (have BC2 as well).
I haven't had any problems with Origin since day one. Even no crashes LOL.
Prices are a bit higher since its EA (rarely ANY sales Australians can take part in, having said that Steam prices aren't that much better, sales aside).

Remember btw that for the newer games (BF3/TOR at least), Origin is like Steam, you'll need to have it running when you play.

I remember people whinging about the beta crashing a lot blah blah. Never had a problem personally speaking :)
EA will ban you for virtually any reason. That means losing access to any games that require Origin in any way, shape or form. Therefore getting BF3 is a particularly bad idea if you're not a grand master at brown nosing.

Ow, you mean BF3?
Thats one of the issues people are having because of exclusivity but come on Nintendo still won't give up the exclusivity of their games so why should EA, also people seem to forget that exclusivity is the only way for Origin to compete with other services, like pretty soon music labals are going to to make their own DD service to compete with Itunes by selling exclusive songs.
Origin works great, and thats what matters. I would much rather deal with Origin, which is actually a decent client, than not play BF3 or ME3 at all.

If theres one thing i dont like about Origin is pricing. They have regional pricing here in Brazil, which is way too high most of the time.

With the client itself i only had an issue when i tried to pre load BF3 which i had pre ordered. I kept getting a random error and then the client would delete the downloaded file and start all over again instead of keeping it and starting from there, for some unknown reason.

I meant Origin beta haha.
BF3 on release was a little iffy .Fine after a few patches.

They had an Origin beta? xD (just kidding, I guess they would before pushing it out :))

Still, it's not like they didn't have EADM for years already ... how much could they have messed up in upgrading it to 'Origin' ? O_o

that should not be a problem to me because as I said before all I want to do is play the games and nothing else and mabye the removing people because they don't like you is a good thing in this sense: at least I will not be seeing any trolls or whiny assholes in Origin.
I've used it since about one month and I too have never had a problem with it. But there was this time when my internet connection suddently died, with Steam I would have been locked out of all my library for hours or days, until I could connect again, but Origin simply switched itself to offline mode and IT KEPT WORKING.
