You're paying them to actually start working. Depending on how much money is raised, it might not even be that.
Oh, and you gain access to their forums and a badge. But again, depending on how much money is raised, not even that.

It makes you wonder, just what exactly they showed in the courtroom against Bethesda, when they now can't even come up with a prototype or a prove of concept.... or concept sketches... basic screenshots... design documents... Anything?

I actually fully expected the masses of fans who claimed that "Bethesda rap** the Fallout franchise" to jump on it. But shockingly, I see even No Mutants Allowed speaking against it.

Final conclusion: Interplay, all hope is lost. We knew that before, but now it's official.

Why is that shocking? The guy behind Interplay now is the one who got Fallout 3 (the non fps one) canned when he took it over. We can't decided who to hate more, him or Beth.

We're talking about the same guys who didn't had a doubt that Interplay (or ANY other dev studio except Beth) would have done a better job on a Fallout successor? Or with whom to side with in the court case? Who saw Fallout Online as the next best thing to sliced bread? And of course who's to blame that we can't play it right now?
Because the guy behind Interplay during that part, is also still the same as is now.

... and yes, the NMA guys took a front seat in everything concerning Bethesda / Interplay and there wasn't even a doubt on which side they stood or that they tried to be unbiased - ever.
If even they dismiss the next Interpl.. sry, Black Isle or whatever plans... yes, I consider this shocking.

Interplay, please, just die already. I don't think anyone will fall for this scam.

In another news, the Forsaken Fortress project looks awesome. If you want a post-apocalyptical game, go for that.

This makes me glad that I donated to the Wasteland 2 KS. I hate too see Interplay's name dragged through the mud like this.

Not sure where you got these ideas, Siannah, but NMA is a bunch of people like this one and anyone can be part of it, so I am sure there were some who didnt know what Interplay became after Titus took over. I am pretty sure ,however, that nobody ever defended Herve.

I...actually want to see this game made. It's kinda sad reading comments, with everyone hating on them. I'm thinking of chipping 10$ in, just to see those forums so GOG forums have inside info but...I'm not really sure.

Oh come on. Let's be serious here. No game will ever be made by Interplay as it is now, whether they call themselves Black Isle or not. Is there even anyone left who knows how to make games in that company?
Just let them die in peace and don't prolong their agony by giving them money.

Fine. But there's a huge difference between making a casual game for smart phones and making a game like Fallout.
And looking at their "games" list, they haven't made a serious PC game in a very long time.

Considering all the important people who were behind Fallout or any of their other successful games have left a long time ago, I see no reason to have any faith in this company.
And the fact they're trying to do a blatant cash grab using the Black Isle name really doesn't help me take them seriously.

Again, Interplay should have died a long time ago, of shame at releasing Fallout: BoS if nothing else. You wouldn't be doing them (or gamers, or the games industry) any favor by giving them money. Just let them die, and let Bethesda have the Fallout rights, at least they've proved they could do something worthwhile with them.

Just to play Devil's Advocate, didn't InXile make mostly iPhone games too before launching their Wasteland 2 Kickstarter?
