Roughly how long is this game? I noticed when starting it up that it warned me not to clear out my internet cache, as that would also remove my savegames. If it is rather short, that is no issue, but if it is a 20h+ game, well, it is.

I actually haven't finished it, so I don't know. It's only $5, and they seem to have put a ton of effort into it, so I'd assume only a few hours.

I'd say it's 8h max. I don't remember exactly how much it took me, but the game has 4-5 chapters, roughly equally long, so I guess it could be completed in 5h, depending how you play and how much you explore. Playing peacefully should be quicker, while fighting everyone might take a bit longer.
In the worst case scenario, you can back up the save file before clearing the cache.

Picked up Black Sun, Girl with a Heart Of, and Cardinal Quest (I'm a sucker for roguelikes.)

Right now I really wish Cardinal Quest had a save/resume function - it seems so much a game I'd wanna play whenever I have a spare 5-10 minutes, but that's not doable.
Got this in an Indievania bundle (along with 3 Dead Zed) at the beginning of the yearI used an Xbox 360 controller with it myself, and it worked great. The key thing to realize is that

1. The game autoaims for the nearest enemy, and that's fine.
2. It's not how quick you can press that attack button (unless you're REALLY close to an enemy) but getting the rhythm right so you don't interrupt your combo. Make upgrading the combo length a priority.
3. Eventually you'll get really tired of the game anyway, though for me it was once I upgraded everything and each of the more successful runs took over 45 minutes.

How does the savegame function in Project Black Sun work? The demo doesn't allow me to save, so I can't judge that aspect on my own ... Would I always be able to restart from the last checkpoint I reached, with full resources, or can I run into situations where I'd have to start completely from scratch?

So... noone here played the full version of Project Black Sun? I'd be very grateful for information on its savegame system.

Also, a question for anyone who bought this Indiefort bundle: Do the games get immediately added to your Gamersgate account? Or do you get codes? If you get codes, are they for the complete bundle or for each game individually? Can you gift codes, can you gift bundles? Thanks!

The games get added immediately to your account. You can gift them individually as long as you have not used (i.e. downloaded or revealed a serial) of the game in question. You cannot gift bundles since the bundles don't exist as items in your library, but you can of course buy a bundle, and then gift all of the games that you got to someone else.

I haven't played the full version, but I watched a complete let's play of the game, and the checkpoints always worked the same.

So they get added to my account but I can still gift them as long as I don't click on "serial key" or "download"? And if I gift them they'll be removed from my account again? How would I go about gifting them? Will a code be displayed in my library? Sorry, if these are silly questions, I just never gifted anything on GG before. :)

What I'm wondering about is:

1. If you quit the game and return later, do you start from the last checkpoint or from the start of a level or from the very beginning?
2. Can you die permanently, erasing your savegame?
3. If you die with all resources (e.g. bullets) spent and then restart at the last checkpoint, will you get a minimum of resources back or will you have to make do with nothing at all?

It would be cool, if someone knew the answer, but then again the game's only $1 or$2, so I guess I could just buy it and find out myself. ;)

You click on "My Library -> Gift a game". A list of all your unused games appears. You put a checkmark next to each game that you want to give away, and confirm that choice. Next you choose the recipients of the gifts. You can enter the profile names of your buddies, or mail addresses. It's preferable to have the recipient make a GG account and add you as a buddy, because then you can gift the game directly to his account. Otherwise, you enter the recipient's mail address, and the recipient will get a mail with a link to redeem the game. Everyone who clicks that link can redeem the game; you can also add send a giftcard to your own mail address and just forward the link to the person whom you want to gift the game. However, mails can sometimes get lost (especially the two most popular German mail services sometimes seem to block gift mails), so direct gifting is preferable.

One thing that currently doesn't work is bulk gifting. You can select many games to gift, but you have to select a recipient for each one individually.

No silly questions at all. :) Gifting works differently in different shops, the various limitations aren't necessarily intuitive, and it's better to ask in advance than to be frustrated later.
