Leroux: Many of them have demos, too, I think. Devil Whiskey and Dark Scavenger definitely have, that's how I found out Devil Whiskey is not worth my time while Dark Scavenger could be enough fun for a casual little diversion (at least it's got a unique artstyle and setting and a positively weird sense of humor).
The idea witht the demo was really good, I checked some of the games. My impressions so far:

Blue Libra: Like TotalBiscuit I had in the tutorial the problem to split a fleet because of the stupid control decision which seems to be based on the tablet versions. I have the feeling playing it on a tablet would be much better. There are an android, mac and linux versions, I wouldn't be surprised if we will see it someday in another HIB Android bundle.

Devil Whiskey: Just started to play, so I really can't judge well about it. One critic point was the bad controls, which was hopefully fixed. I read somewhere that a patch implemented a better mouse control. Like johnki wrote the game feels very oldskool, but that's nothing bad. I will check the manual and decide later, so far I'm still interested.

Zombie Football: Seems to be a funny game and I like the idea that death isn't the end and worthless. My biggest problem is the missing option to modify the controls. The keys z and y are regulary switched in the german keyboard layout, so playing the game on a german keyboard is very unhandy. I need to check on the homepage if there was a an update to fix that, otherwise I will better skipi it. I know there is always the option to change the control scheme in windows, but nah.

Dark Scavenger: Heck, there are many flash-based games in that bundle. Any idea to get the game fullscreen? I played it for some minutes. I can see why many say here this game is interesting, but I also get the feeling it can also get boring very fast. Will decide later, I need more playtime to decide.

For Telepath there was no demo (homepage seems to be broken), but I: watched some gameplay videos. Nonetheless the game is great I really have a problem with the topdown view.

Skunk: I can say to be wary of 3079 and Survivors of Ragnarök. Phr00t gave up on development of the former way too soon. It has some nice ideas but there's almost no actual game, and what's there can be completed in about an hour.
Oh, so 3079 has been abandoned and never really evolved into a game? I got it with the Indie Royale Alpha bundle and never even tried it out so far, but I guess that's an important lesson about paying for games in alpha stage, hoping they'll get better in the future? :/

There is a demo, I remember trying it a while ago (I just forgot what I thought about it). One way I found to get it now is to go to the game's Desura page. Click on Demo, then on the small blue "standalone downloads" link above the big buttons. That way you don't need a Desura account or to log into yours should you have one.

As for Dark Scavenger, I fear there is no fullscreen mode; if I recall correctly I even asked the devs about it and they told me no. :(

According to its Desura page, it's been updated as recently as Sept. 3.

I got it from that same bundle, but I found the interface confusing. I'll give it another shot some day.
Instant buy if only for Air Buccaneers. Also got Dark Scavenger and Demise: Ascension (though they apparently ran out of activation keys for the latter, which is a shame. It looked interesting).

3079 is not really abandoned, it is still getting updated and bug fixed, however the nature of the game is, and I think will always be, a giant sandbox. You can do the main 'quest' (defeat the demons) in a very short time, but can spend forever exploring, gear hunting and doing the faction quests if you want to.

Leroux: Anyway, I'd be interested in your opinion on Telepath RPG, when you get around to playing it. :)
Alright, I've played it and I have mixed feelings about it.

Here are the bullet points.

- An okay art style. Everything seems much more detailed (and blurrier) than the characters, which bothers me a bit, but it all seems to fit well together after a while, at the very least.

- Repetitive battle music.

- Voiceovers are okay one minute, and then kinda bad the next. It's very hit and miss.

- I don't know about later on, but at the beginning of the game, there is a LOT of dialogue.

- Battles are kind of generic SRPG fare. Though there aren't a lot of SRPG-style games that are in native English (at the very least, not anymore), so it might be a plus for some. Not really sure what "Mind Shield" has to do with healing, but that's what the heal spell is called.

- I'm very iffy on the story. It could either get really good, or it could get really bad, and I have a feeling it will all happen really quickly. It goes like this:

You live in a town/state/country/something (not really sure yet) where people all worship this god, Anu. Then along comes this cult, who worship another god, called Yahwah, and their "bible" is called the Iqon. The cult pretty much edges their way into the government and seizes control. Part of the seizure includes making it illegal for people who don't worship Yahwah to run for office. The government officials already in place wouldn't go for it, but the cult already has the city guard on their payroll, so they arrest current government officials that don't worship Yahwah. Surprise surprise, that's your parents. So you and your parents get arrested, and you get busted out by your friend who's part of the rebellion against the cult (the leader actually), and the entire game seems to be about you being a part of that, and presumably saving your parents at some point.

And that's the first 15-20 minutes of the game.

Like I said, it could get really good, or it could get really bad. Battles could go either way too.

It's also built on AIR, and I'm assuming that's why it gets some weird framerate drops.

In the end, though, if you are even slightly interested, now is the time to get it. It's a $25 game. I don't see it getting this cheap ever again.

EDIT: I did actually watch Telepath RPG on TIGSource for a while. The guy is a pretty dedicated developer. Oh, and an older game in the series is free on Kongregate.

http://www.kongregate.com/games/SinisterDesign/telepath-rpg-chapter-2

Oh, and I really don't think Cardinal Quest was intended to be played for more (or less) than "until the game ends".

Amazing bundle, and my first Indiefort purchase!

Picked up:
3079
Air Buccaneers HD
Black Market
Blue Libra
Star Prospector
Tiny & Big
Tiny and big, Girl with a heart of look interesting. It's hard for me to find a 3rd though...
Looks cool but a lot of game that look interesting but i would never buy if it wasn't this cheap... and by backlog is way too big. But i'm debating buy 3 or 6. Since i want tiny and big it's good deal anyway.

Hmm, interesting:

$4 is almost exactly £2.50 so that one is pretty much bang on.
$7 is about £4.38 (they've rounded that one up to £4.50).
$9 is about £5.63, but that tier is £6.50 here so that one is disproportionately expensive. Weird.

Thanks for the info!
On 21st of September voting will begin! Help us crown the three best indie games of the IndieFort Championship by voting on you favorite. The top three games will be included in the ULTIMATE INDIEFORT PACK which will be sold for only $3. Yes, that´s $3 for three awesome indie games! And as a bonus, the bundle will also include a *Maximized Void Slot
So... is there a reason to get this now? Seems to me like waiting, voting, then buying that Ultimate IndieFort Pack is the way to go. Cheaper and gives you a Void slot.

Well, the games you want may not be the ones voted into the Ultimate IndieFort. And since most people in the thread seem to be going bronze, paying an extra dollar to decide which games you get, instead of relying on community vote, doesn't seem like a bad deal.

Site is up again and I will check the demo in the next days, thanks for the tip.

Btw I need to correct myself about Blue Libra. Yesterday I tried it again and found out how to split a fleet. It's pretty easy if you know how, just click a point outside the fleet (and not on the fleet) and then draw a line through your fleet. I did the mistake to click on the fleet or too close to it. The game makes fun, but it's nothing that will catch you for hours. Also I checked the homepage of the Zombie Football developer, unfortuantely there is no information about how to change the keyboard controls on the page or forum.

The review on GG mentions that Girl With a Heart of suffers from grammar mistakes. I can't stand grammar mistakes in my adventure games. Have they been fixed?
