All of their latest daily deals and almost every new / upcoming releases are region restricted .
Great place to pickup used console games, especially if you are patient and wait for them to be cheap.

I take it Impulse is their online store? I just stick to Steam, GOG, Amazon and Mac App Store. Never any problems, good deals for smart shoppers and less accounts to keep tabs on by sticking to these leading retailers.

The more things change, the more Impulse stays the same.

Half of the games or atleast the ones worth buying show up saying
Sorry, this item is not available in your region.

Why display the game in store if they are not going to sell it. Store is just not worth looking at.

There must be some choices available to you that you could stick to and screw Impulse or any other retailer you don't like. Why waste your energy bitching Impulse sucks? Just take your business elsewhere. Problem solved.
Impulse has always been garbage. Being sold off to Gamestop has not improved the situation.
Far as I know most distribution companies like Gamestop/Impulse have to negotiate every deal with the rights holders - games don't just "go on sale" when the distribution company wants them to. They have to arrange for the items to go on sale - this means that regional restrictions might well not be anything to do with them and could be restrictions imposed upon them by the rights holders over the games themselves.

There might also be other legal barriers in place within those countries which prevent the games going on sale or which increase required paperwork/processing to put items on sale.

I wish. We have it pretty good in the USA but this stings even us. Getting Japanese or European exclusives off PSN is no fun for instance.
Damned shame Impulse is the only place to get Zanzarah nowadays. I do want the game, but Impulse is a pretty big no-no.
I don't like the client either but my dislike started AFTER Gamestop bought Impulse. The reason for my dislike is this: They say there's a savings of however much and AFTER taxes are taken (7%), I save a whole PENNY on stuff sold. Why not just buy whatever it is from steam for full price less tax? I have the same complaint about Origin regarding sales tax but that's another topic entirely

They bought Impulse from Stardock because they see the writing on the wall with physical, they already re-invented themselves once, they're not willing to simply close up shop.

Impulse was always an ass client, but then again so is Steam.
Must you?

*armours self for the wave of GOG addicts/fantatics/zealots to worship the ground upon which GOG is formed *

But don't forget Desura!

Honestly though never had a problem with Gamestop/Impulse at all I do favour steam mostly because it tends to get most things and I like it all in one place.
