I think you should watch the movies for one simple reason. If you have ever looked at them and thought they looked interesting then you were right, and you are depriving yourself of seeing two classic sci-fi movies and a very funny + mixed up western.
Good wholesome viewing for the whole family.

Back to the Future is one of those iconic movies that people like to reference like Silence of the Lambs, Deliverance, or Scarface.

Then again, I liked the Back to the Future movies but didn't like Silence of the Lambs, Deliverance, and have no interest in Scarface.

So, should you watch Back to the Future? Maybe. If you're interested just to see what all the fuss is about, probably not. If you like the concept of time travel, then sure. If you do watch it though, watch all three.

YOu should at least watch the first movie. its a nice fun comedy. I did watch the other two but they aren't memorable to me. I think they went to the Wild West in one of them and the movies kept getting more outrageous.

You should definitely watch at least the first movie, it is just fun. Back to the Future movies had a big influence on kids in the '80's, how they dressed, talked and wanting to skateboard.

I think you should watch them because they are all entertaining movies that hold up quite well to this day. They are also one of the examples of a time travel plot done right, exploring the various facets and consequences of the concept.

Granted, the third movie wasn't as good as the first two, so some people rightfully don't like it. But I think it's good enough that it's worth watching and it still makes for a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy.

You should watch them because not only they are fun films but also you'll be getting a lot more pop culture references.
